Bought the game and played prepatch about 100 hours and have aout 150 post patch. Yes there were a lot of bugs (updating your drivers fixes most of them), yes it's the worst driving simulator since Mass Effect (ugh), yes the devs still have a lot of work to do... That said the story line is good and they got has the most important aspect right: Its FUN! characters will make you laugh and make you angry and make you care about your choices.
Is it perfect no. IS it worth $50? Well yes, yes it is. I have 250+ hours in it so that works out to about 20 cents an hour. Pretty cheap entertainment. I'll probably put another hundred in on my third play through.
IF youy like RPGs and you like cyberpunk/shadowrun you'll probably love this.
If I was a member of the CP2077 dev team I would be pissed at the CDPR marketing team. They overhyped and oversold this game so much, vastly overselling what was in it with one of the largest and most expensive marketing campaigns in video game history
However, despite not being anything near what they advertised it as, it's still a solid game.
The story is good, graphics are some of the best I've ever seen, combat is okay. The real gem of this game is the sidequests. Almost all of them are fantastic, some of which I'd even consider to be among the best sidequests I've ever seen in a game (Especially the Sinnerman quest chain and Dream On).
Only complaints I have are:
1. The game is too short. I finished the entire main story + almost every sidequest + about a quarter of the gigs in about 30 hours. The main story especially is so short (maybe about 10 hours or less of content). you reach the point of no return very quickly. It's not bad, but it's far from the 100-200 hour long epic that Witcher 3 was. I wish CDPR just ignored the people that couldn't handle W3's length. It's crazy that people will spend thousands of hours playing games like League or WoW, but can't handle a 100 hour long single player game
2. The game is still very buggy. I've had to reload so many times because things would break, or get stuck, or wouldn't load. You'd think that things would be fine after multiple patches + all those delays.
But overall it's a good game. Just don't go in expecting the GTA+Deus Ex+FNV hybrid they promised. Don't go in expecting anything groundbreaking or revolutionary. Just go in expecting a solid futuristic RPG that won't be as good as CDPRs last game.
Cyberpunk has kinda taken on a skyrim like feel for me - it's a buggy mess, sure, but I still quite happily poured 20 hours into and then started playing again. It really isn't what they marketed it as, and while the game is honestly pretty incredible as is, I'm just left wishing they did more. I wish the lifepaths actually impacted the story, I wish the endings where more varied and didn't all converge into one mission. The game really doesn't feel like you where meant to do anything other than follow the main story for most of it either - you're constantly hounded by reminders to go do the main story, and if you don't it can lead to things like V talking candidly with Johnny about delemain right after a sequence in which he tried to kill V.
TL;DR, great game, but could have been a million times better. Fuck the execs who made them release it when they did.
Everything is beautiful, feels like the same engine as "dead island" because there are suitcases all over. Bad key mapping is the Cirlce button.. when I try to skip or exit a convesation I end up looking like I'm about to give a bj. I could remap the key, but hoping I'm almost done with the story.
Jumping from a balcony and bouncing off of a person's head is fun too. Car physics are designed by someone who has never driven a car (I can make the car breakdance).
Overall fun game, headshots are easy.
It's good. It runs well.
People who disagree are wrong, and/or console peasants*. Anyone who rates this as bad is just objectively wrong.
Source: I actually bought the game after playing it for free. It's worth the money, and then some.
*Console peasants' opinion doesn't matter.
