I finished the game after 90h of play time and despite all the negative news and complaints from other games, for me the game has lived-up to my expectations.
My PC has a GTX 1060 with 6GB, 16GB RAM and a Intel 9700K CPU - bearly any bugs or anything game breaking (probably I was lucky). The story was overall great and kept me going. There were many ways to solve problesms and side with different allies. Since I am a fan of the cyberpunk genre, this games comabined the best of two world for me: RPG games and cyberpunk.
I hope there will be many DLC and mods for this game and that the sh*t storm will pass soon. The developers worked for years, just to get many complaints for an (in my oppinion) very good game. It is not world class (yet), but it can become that over time. For the future I would like to see more impact from my decision on the actual world (entire gangs dissaper, or new ones appear, controlling/managing districts on your own etc.). The AI for sure needs to be improved too, at the moment it lacks refinement. Thank you CDPR for makings this game and keep up making it even better!
In the current state, this game seems to be an enjoyable game. I like the missions, I like the setting, I like the character development.
What I don't like though are the bugs. This game has been delayed 3 times I think, because the devs explicitely wanted this game to be finished and polished and then proceed to publish this game in a bugged, unpolished state. Since this game has always been marketed as "released when it's ready" this seems like a d*ck move to me.
If you forget everything you know through the marketing material of this game, it is despite of it's flaws quite enjoyable.
I wasn't even that hyped for Cyberpunk, but I've been watching all Night City Wire episodes, following CDPR since The Witcher 3. I'm an art student and want to work in the gamedev industry sometime, so I'm into all technical things too, not only the plot of the game or the graphics.
I'm giving this game 5/5, because I think it's about 4.5/5, but unfortunately GOG isn't allowing the 10 point scale and/or halves. For those curious about the PC specs, I'm playing it on an a-little-more-than-average rig: AMD Ryzen 2600x, RTX 2060 Super Gaming 8GB, 32GB RAM, SSD drive for the game of course. From the moment I've launched Cyberpunk for the first time on December 10th, 2020, I was in love. Of course, in the first day the game had some trouble with loading textures, but in my case it was barely occuring. I hadn't had a lot of bugs since the day I've played for the first time, and all of them were not serious enough to make the experience unpleasant.
I'm really hoping they'll fix this game and bring some DLCs, as it's brilliant, the concept, the plot, the characters (it's an RPG after all), it's just unfinished. And I can see why, I mean this game is huge, it has so many mechanics, the content is unbelievably complex, and this game was supposed to be released in 2020, with COVID spreading around, making it hard to test the game properly, with the urge to release it for PS4 and XOne and so on. CDPR's management was too eager to release it as fast as possible, while the guys behind the game's dev itself worked their assess off to deliver the game we wanted. I salute all the people working on the game itself, on the quests, on city design, the story, the music (GOD! this game has one of the best soundtracks ever), this game is just so good to play (especially with the Xbox pad). It gave me joy I wanted to feel while playing it after the shitty 2020.
Wanna buy it for the original price? I think it's worth it anyway. If not, just wait. But it is a good game.
Icwas never bored all the time I've played. Surely, I've noticed all that gitches, and open endings sukcs, but..
Thank you CDPR. Thank you for this world and this life that I've lived there.
And I'm looking forward to return in NC again.
