Gave it nearly 5 hours, and while I can definitely see why Cult of the Lamb has a strong fanbase, it just didn’t click with me personally. The art style is great, the music is solid, and the humor is weird in a good way — but the gameplay loop felt a bit repetitive for my taste.
I was expecting the mix of base-building and combat to pull me in more, but even after unlocking a few features and beating the first boss, it still felt like something was missing for me.
Not a bad game at all — just one of those titles that you either vibe with hard or don’t. I respect the devs, especially for listening to the community, but I’ll be refunding this one.
Love the game, can't stop playing. I had already tried it and got the bad ending on PS+ streaming, but couldn't stop thinking about it, so bought it on GOG and been playing it again. It feels like there's some button press lag on occasion even with only 7 followers and a decent computer. It crashed on me at 3h45 minutes. I didn't have any crashes on PS.
With fun, fluid combat and a deep base building system that's tied to the upgrade tree, Cult of the Lamb is a joy to play. The appealing art and phenomenal soudtrack carry it into "must play" territory.
Played this shortly after release and liked it but felt it lacked a bit. The free DLC has deffo helped and makes it feel more complete. Recommended if you like rogue-lite dungeon crawling with some base-building / management added in.
