Crysis®

I never bought any of the Crysis games for PC because I couldn't stand the 50 machine activation limit that it comes with. When I saw it on GOG I swooped on both Crysis and Warhead. No better reason to drop your cash than a classic game that you own without messy restrictions.

Crysis continues to be a fantastic piece of history of PC gaming. The game is beautiful, and will probably run great on most pc nowadays. Gameplay is also really good, though the second half of the game is not as good as the first half. (the switch from being a predator, to being the prey is very jarring, and it's an issue that i disliked in every single Crysis game. Now for the GOG version, the game will run out of the box (which is good, the other versions usually required you to patch the game to even get the game to launch). However I still needed to download 3rd party files in order to remove the 50fps cap that the game has with Vsync turned on while playing on DX10 mode. Not a big deal, but if for those who have the same issue i did, check the PCGamingWiki page for the game to get the fix.

There's a widely-reported problem of Crysis not being able to start up. I still have the same OS (Windows 10) and hardware from when I last played it on GOG, so I think it was broken by either a Windows 10 and/or a GeForce driver updates. I found a very simple fix to get it working for me, which does not involve downloading anything: 1) In GOG, go to the Crysis main page 2) Settings > Manage installation > Configure > Features 3) Scroll to the bottom and click "Add another executable / arguments" 4) For File, select your Crysis launcher file. On my machine, this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Crysis\CrysisLauncher.exe 5) For arguments, enter "-dx9" (without the quotes) 6) Select "Default executable", then click OK 7) Click Play, the game started running normally for me

Love the game but did´nt work for me at first. The game just crashed for me so i downloaded a fix from github called "c1-launcher" by Daniel Hryzbil/ccomrade. I just put the files in my crysis folder an overwrote the existing files. Now it works great for me!
