The plot is really intriguing, maybe too mysterious, because many thing you only comprehend by playing more than once ou playing very thoroughly. But it is never tedious, the fights are amazing and so are the bosses.
I played what felt like maybe 1/3rd of the way into this game a few years ago, but I never returned to finish it. I remember loving the story and the characters, but also that the gameplay got a bit repetitive at that point already. I love Remedy and their unique brand of humor, so I'm going to go for another playthrough. Well, because of that and because this game just got its first graphics update in years.
I set up my game/graphics settings for this playthrough, and I'm impressed at how optimized this game is. I can't remember how well it ran before the latest update, so I can't attribute the optimization to that for sure. On a 3070 It runs well at a mix of high/ultra graphics settings and a high ray tracing preset with all the ray tracing options enabled. Decent optimization sure is refreshing after playing a number of Unreal Engine 5 games lately.
Anyway, I will return to update this review upon my completion of this playthrough. That is, if I do indeed finish the game this time.
Absolutely amazing game. I really like the gameplay. The Launch ability is amazing ! I always love the telekenises...it's so much fun.
The story narrative is good too... very freaky-deaky in parts but still great fun.
