Comanche vs. Hokum is a tandem product with Apache vs. Havoc- if you own both you can play any mission in any helicopters- including multiplayer!

Classic for a reason.

It's a classic in the genre for good reasons. It's the first helicopter sim I tried, and still haven't found one that's more fun. While it's old (I've only played the old cd release) and that is noticeable in the game engine, level and mission designs are good (Tunguska on a high point...) , and you can set how much assistance you want for ex altitude keeping and so on, or go near pure sim. An addition to an earlier review, rather than using creative openAL I'd recommend openAl-soft and make a hrtf profile that fits your ears, improves sound experience in a lot of games that use openal or can use a wrapper to use openal

Get Both Titles and Mod

I remember playing this in 1999 and was impressed. Thanks to the modding community this game is still amazing. For the price and a free mod upgrade, this will spend a long time on my hard drive. Thanks GOG!

It is not a simulator

Nice dynamic campaign mode? you can really feel tense of aerial combat situations, but terrible flight model on both choppers. Bots doesn't have even local FM, their movements is just animation. Avionics of KA-52 and RAH 66 purely unrealistic. As well as weapons (no ballistic model for guns and unguided rockets, fictional radar-guided Vikhr and such). Its a shooter with choppers, not a sim.

Comanche on the Warpath

Apache/Havoc was as close to Jane’s Longbow 2 as you can get on windows, but Comanche/Hokum is a vast improvement over it, Comanche/Hokum 2 was released for Vista, with some graphic upgrades, however I couldn’t ever get it to run on Vista, I went back and forth with the developers and finely they just quit responding, I have both of these games and tried to play them on Vista, but they just didn’t work right. So when I found them on GOG, I got them and it’s the good old days all over again, playing them on a super PC is just mad.

Comanche vs Hokum :)

Awsome helicopter gunship simulator. Played Jane's Longbow 2 in 1997. Never played this until now. Fantastic game; I love the dynamic campaign. Would recommend highly if you like military simulators.
