A Love Letter to Incels
I'm pretty sure I got the best ending, as well as several others. The main takeaway is that pretty girls will be punished no matter what path they choose. The only ending that didn't get Nicole killed, committed, or kicked out ends with the principal (the only female adult other than her mom in the whole game) getting fired. When I bought this, I thought it was going to be a tongue-in-cheek reverse harem story where the girl gets to tell guys off. Instead, it's a thinly veiled warning from a guy who probably has trouble getting laid and assumes that, because he knew one or two girls in high school, he understands what the female high school experience is like. Also, his attitude on feminism alone makes me wanna punch him in the balls. TL:DR If you are *actually* a woman, and not a guy who thinks he knows women better than they know themselves, give this one a pass.

Thanks Tomar
this was a great game about the late 2000s and it did bring nostalgia to me when reading it, same with my friends, it's also got a really damn good sense of humor that i wouldn't expect from a 2000s white women

Bland, damn short, NOT a rejection sim
This visual novel takes about 15 minutes to complete. Make that maximum 2 hours if you really want to explore every path you could possibly click--something, you probably won't try. The game hints where it intended to go with the story: social criticism, depression, abuse. The idea is certainly good--Unfortunately, the author lacks both skill and experience to pull off such a complex topic. The dialog is bland; you may even skip it at your first play through (if you even ever go for a second). Class of '09 fails to make the characters engaging, or give you any reason to care. What could have been a gut-wrenching psychological social drama instead fizzles out before it even started, and all boils down to: A girl has a shitty childhood, life sucks, and people are pigs with the mental capacity of a swineherd. Well, what else is new? To make matters worse, the character transports no properties that make her memorable. We see the world through her eyes, and her experiences obviously color her perception. But the story doesn't go anywhere with that idea, fails to make you feel what she feels and instead leaves an uncomfortable distance, even alienation. It tries to be funny when it should be serious and vice versa. It tries to create outrage, when things go as expected. While the story's theme is depression and abuse, it does a poor job of displaying either. As far as abuse goes, it unfortunately barely scratches the surface, for that rabbit hole runs deeper and darker. It mentions depression, but then doesn't even begin to go there. The protagonist is left unfinished, not properly fleshed out, and hollow. In short: The story is none of what the blurb promises. In fact, it feels like the game itself isn't even sure what it wants to be--and in an attempt to touch a bit of everything, fails to tell an engaging story. Which sucks, for there certainly is one hidden in there somewhere; except, this just isn't it.
