Glad this surfaced on GOG

If you love platformers and love finding hidden things, you'll enjoy this game... it's super polished (Unity Engine but runs real smooth and looks great)... The atmosphere and sound effects are pure delight, very well done... Quite a bit of the platforming is physics based from environmental objects that move, so the platforming might have you "leaning into your screen" to try and catch that ledge and timing things just right... this is an example of the finer side of GOG's curation: it's been on Steam for a while and I never knew it existed until now, glad I was able to enjoy this

Good and relaxing game

I played this on Xbox and enjoyed it. It has a short and pleasant story that reminds me of a classic fairy tale. Gameplay-wise it's a rather easy platformer from an isometric point of view with a focus on lighting dark passages using your limited amount of expendable stearic. I'd recommend playing with a controller if possible.

Awesome Indie game

Great mechanics, great story, great graphics even. Very nice short graphical novel. this little gems, or should I say this little light. :) have fun playing this game, I recommend to play it when you want a relaxing game and have some time for it.

A wonderful little game

A nice little puzzle with platforming elements game. It has a nice story to go with it as you progress further. The game has some great graphics fitting the different areas you will visit. Nice music and sounds. If you enjoy a small challenge finding everything and solving puzzles while enjoying wonderful areas I can strongly recommend the game.

Lovely game: awful voiceover

Candleman is a delightful little puzzle platformer with a neat light-based mechanic and English voice "acting" so utterly lifeless you'll wonder why they didn't just use a text-to-speech program. The little two-line poems that separate each level are translated from the original Chinese with... questionable... results, but they could still have worked if spoken by a human capable of emoting. Instead what you actually get sounds like a woman whose bloodstream is at least 80% sedatives narrating the story with all the emotional investment of a brain-injured hospital patient reading the side of a cereal box . This kind of magical fable needs breathless wonder in the narration, not bored disinterest. If there was a way to switch on the Chinese voiceover and the English subtitles at the same time I'd have paid to do it, rather than listen to Miss Monotone squash any wonder out of the charming story of the little candle that could.
