Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Still playing it after all these years. Good fun for any machine out there.

A fun western-themed shooter, looks good for its age, plays nicely, though the fact that levels are made to be played with both characters means, unlike its predecessor, that some times there is a right and wrong choice... (cough) level 2 stagecoach chase is so much easier as Ray (cough) . On a technical level the game is smooth as silk, at least for me, no bugs, glitches or crashes. But most of all it's just a lot of fun, I got it in the Call of Juarez bundle and I don't regret the purchase.

Good story, good gun's feelings, nice gunfights with a great cover systems, correct ost and finally, various maps. But the technics in the game is very limited with just two differents ennemies faces, weird movements and animations and empty environnments. The most big problem in the campaign is the big repetitivity in the missions, from a moment, it's always the same structures and gameplay. But, in the end, it's still a good entertainment of 8 hours who deserve to be play for the nostalgics and the curious, but only in promotion.

Just like a lot of games from 2009, this game is still fun years later. The gameplay is a major improvement from the original, with the action feeling much smoother and the removal of platforming thankfully making this a pure western shooter. The story is a prequel to the first so nothing will be surprising here to those who played that. If you want a fun and quick game, I highly recommend this
