I wanna ride a giant cat!

You play a girl (or boy) left in charge of their aunt's animal cafe (I think the technical term is "cat cafe", only yours can staff foxes and bears) on an island full of overly friendly critters that you can recruit, pet, play with or "store" (by which I mean: put on your head for later use). There's exploration, a baking mini-game, some light trading, and a bit of interior design, but the most fun (at least for me) is being able to run up to a bear, pick it up and wiggle it. I don't think I'll get tired of that quickly. The game has adorable, minimalist graphics and appropriately airy writing. The controls are a little awkward (especially if you are not used to a controller), but easy enough to handle with a little practice. My only quibble is the soundtrack, which -- while pleasant at first -- does loop after about 15 seconds and gets old fairly quickly. That aside, for the money, it's a sweet little game for anyone who likes animals, secretly dreams of running a cafe, or just wants to traipse around on a giant cat :3

A Beautiful Wreck

This is a lovely... Life Sim(?) where you run a cat café. You can decorate the store, garden, and your bedroom above. You'll find all kinds of animals out in the wild, and as soon as you make friends with them, you can send them back to your café or have them follow you around; you can even do this in the menu from anywhere on the island, so if you need a specific animal, you don't have to go searching. You also meet the town's inhabitants and help them solve their problems to raise their affection. I would've liked to have a dating option, but I can't complain too much about it, since it's a fairly short game. What really wowed me was what drew me in in the first place: the visuals. It's a beautiful, surreal world of pastels and all kinds of wondrous things to discover. It isn't quite Broken Reality, but without going full vaporwave, this was a lovely way to do it. Even the character designs are very cute and colorful; lots of different types of people from all walks of life. The animals are great, too, and look good however you decide to decorate them. The game is fairly buggy, but it wasn't really that much of a problem for me. Yes, there are some clipping issues, and sometimes characters get stuck together, but it's a lot less buggy than, say, a 3D Fallout game; it isn't THAT broken. It's also a lot less demanding; the bugs aren't a huge deal if you don't have to worry about radioactive desert mutants eating your face like in Fallout. I didn't have the game crash, and I didn't get stuck anywhere, but even if you do, there's always a potion that warps you back home, and potions have infinite uses. For me, there were just a couple of laughs at some of the unintentional weirdness from glitches, but nothing game breaking. I highly recommend this if you're looking for a pretty world to visit for a little while.

This game has so many problems, like you can't use the mouse, you can't exit the game, that's a shame.

Relaxing with a laugh

This game is a cute foray into an easy cafe simulator. This is a good place to start for kids and for those who don't like high-stress games. You inherit your aunt's cafe and must return it to its formal, small town glory. You can have up to five companions, four on foot and one on your head, and ten at the cafe. You don't have to worry about taking care of them or after making a recipe once, the food at the cafe as the game takes care of that for you. Sometimes a character may ask for a specific food at the cafe and you may have to re-arrange food being sold but thats it. To progress in the game you must solve the villagers problems which are in all honesty fetch quests, with a little life advice thrown in. Choices are limited in what you can respond with, which is a negative for me, but takes the quess work out. The game is sparcely populated, but each person holds their own actions and responses. Your character has the funniest running animation, I have ever seen. Quiet honestly it looks like it belongs in a family friendly spooky mystery game. The soundtrack is easy to leave in the background and flows well with the game and its fun to run around with a horse on your head. Sticking points, the controls are a bit awkward and take a bit to get use to, there are some minor graphical issues like camera clipping but nothing game breaking. The bigger animals if brought inside do some serious dancing but again it does't break the game and its easy to fix. All in all a nice relaxing game for those who like cute animals, loe-poly graphics, and simple gameplay. Way to go you two-person dev team!

Escapism at its finest

There's really nothing more satisfying after a ton of real life drama, news, work, and downright hassle than riding a giant cat through a garden meadow while nice music plays. The game hangs kind of randomly sometimes. It also has an odd bug with the home/cafe sometimes not being able to decorate with the furniture button.
