Breath of Fire IV

I grew up with this game, lost it while moving around 2009. I'm happy GOG gave me a chance to play it again. Also, GOG, bring Breath of Fire 3 to the PC , please.

Let me start by saying it is great to have this game preserved for the future. I still love it even to this day and even in this condition. Speaking of which there are a few issues that at this time haven't been resolved. Graphic glitches in panning shots in cutscenes where it is slow then rapidly speeds up to catch up the animations of characters. The controls scheme for controllers is odd and doesn't use the button graphics from the PS1. The emulator used for this port changes how the graphics are rendered leading to weird feeling smoothing on some graphics, clipping from slightly updated 3D models, either with terrain or with sprites on different layers. BUT even with these issues I am having fun with the game, reliving some of my memories and even finding and doing things my younger self just plainly missed out on. (I never knew how to get the different endings...) It is still a solid Breath of Fire entry even with the slight errors and odd choices that may or may not be fixed eventually. Either way I still love it and I can only hope the others of the series make it here sooner or later. Bit of a tip, change the keyboard keys to the letters of the buttons you are using on your controller, atleast then it will match up and be less confusing when you are trying to figure out which buttons to press when you want to make camp or what buttons to use in the Super Combo. And remember regardless of flaws, enjoyed time is never wasted time.
