Braveland review

Braveland is a simple 'mobile' type game. The story is a liner progression along with the battles- there is no deep plot or characters here it is mainly just a light lunch break game. The main game should take a person around 5 hours to complete and there is an endless mode available. I must admit that I was a bit sick of the countless pointless battles towards the end of the game. If you're looking for a quick lunch break mobile game it should fill a void but don't look here for anything more. Graphics as you can see in the previews are rather light and childlike.

Cute but too simple, boring and short

It is a cute game. But it feels like it's target audience is 10 year old gamers since it is super simplistic, lacks dept and is far too easy. You cannot even loose! When you loose a fight you restart from before the fight with bonus gold. Many ingame informations are missing, like current hp of a unit, damage inflicted with spells etc. Still two stars since it is cute, beginner friendly and was over fast. IF you have small kids they might like it.

Fun, Albeit Short, Game

This game is a fun turn-based, hexagonal board game in the mold of Heroes of Might and Magic with a map progression in the Mario level selection screen realm. There's no real story (Your village is razed and sacked... get revenge!) and the game is pretty straight forward and linear. There are 3 difficulty settings. You get to level up your hero (that never fights) but that increases the potential size of the armies you control. You can acquire 4 types of gear that benefits your armies. You have to spend money to recruit most of your army. Money is obtained mostly by defeating the enemy and minimizing your losses during combat. There's about 20-25 different enemies that you can run into and they each have their strengths and weaknesses that blend together with other enemies. Almost every unit you have gets a special ability at some point (except peasants.) You have 5 spells that you can eventually use in combat (from direct damage spells to buffs.) It get redundant pretty quickly but the game only takes about 2-3 hours. It's worth it if you get it on sale for 50% off or more but I wouldn't pay the full asking price for a game that you can beat after you get home from work and before you go to bed.

Good casual game

The main point to keep in mind: this is a casual game. Treating it as such it is quite nice although have a few minor bugs. It has no real plot or deepness, just a small game to fit in 5 min breaks during a day. Also feels very much like a port of mobile game. I was able to grab it for 1EUR and for that price it is really good. If you like turn-based casual tactics games and you are able to catch a sale I'd suggest a definite buy.
