A little too clever (sorry)
This game is...impressive. It has an exellent story. Its just....really, REALLY good. and it has incredible visuals and audio. Its frippin' magical. Or...so as not to understate my admiration: Magickal. With the 'K' that hipsters use so they can feel special. Which is how I feel about this game. Its frippin' Magickal. It really is something special. But I know, deep in my nerdy, nerdy heart, that alas, (with extra commas,) that I will never EVER solve some of these puzzles. ,,,,*sigh*,,,,,,,,,,, I know I'm retarded, I'm ok with it. :D And......well, thats where Braid gets too clever. I cant even fault you that much for it, because some of the mechanics for these puzzles are REALLY neat. They're REALLY, REALLY neat. frippin Magickal. God damn.....But I cant really figure some of them out. And I feel sad, because I feel like I failed somehow. Puzzle design is difficult. It just is. So, I cant fault you too much for that....however thats where a lot of games start to get tripped up, and when its your main avenue for fun and enjoyment, it gets a little hard to keep going. Which is such a shame because then I dont get to see the rest of your frippin' Magickally designed game. And thats why I gave it 3 stars.

Reverse-rewind-somehow move forward
In this game you will reverse time, rewind some steps, try again, rewind and somehow move forward. There is a great story somewhere here, but I did not like any of the gameplay. And I am salty about about it, but i aint gonna praise it either. I will give props to the story and the twists and everything that you should at least look a video about. I'm just saying that getting to the story wasn't fun for me.

Pretentious and overrated
I finished this game a few years ago, ecouraged by the glowing reviews, and at the end I was pretty disappointed. Maybe my expectations had been too high, since the game turned out to be just a platformer with (pretty neat) time manipulation mechanics and a pretentious storyline. I guess for many people that is exactly what they want, which is fine. For me this is one of the flagships of 'indie hipster game' phenonemon of the digital distribution age, but I do seem to be in the minority. if you like this type of game, then by all means, play Braid (you prbably have already). If not, steer clear, or wait for discounts to satisfy tour curosity. The audiovisual layer is fine, I guess, although i am not a fan of the art style. My rating: $4
