Awesome!

Just what was needed for this game, which was really hard to play in its previous format, on modern PC's. Now, textures are much clearer, widescreen support, smooth movement and aiming, alt-tab or hit the Windows key to switch to the desktop, many more options for gameplay and display/game options, etc.., I'm currently playing through the various campaigns/levels and ramping-up the difficulty as I get better and more familiar with the levels and weapons again, and this version allow me to do that perfectly. Smooth gameplay, no bugs, I can finally enjoy the game properly. It's just nice to jump back in time and experience a classic 90's FPS action game the way it was meant to be enjoyed on modern systems, without the hassle of installing mods and mucking-up my PC with files/exe's and launchers etc.., (looking at you, original DOOM series). So yeah, this kind of thing is great, I'd happily pay $5-$10 or so for games to be updated and re-packaged this way. Let's hope the 90's Doom games follow suit at some point.

Great game, one of the Best!

One of my all time favourites. Definitely worth picking up if you want the definitive version. Able to more accurately aim is a real bonus as is being about to select higher resolutions to smooth those jaggies out a bit. However I am finding that turning off 'cd music' is not working and there's no option for regular old style midi music. Something I much prefer. Am rather disappointed about that. Maybe this could be patched in?? 9/10

Amazing remake for an amazing game

It had it's flaws at the beginning but the devs are actively working to patch the game and fix any issues, and right now it's 100% enjoyable. Blood was one of the best fps ever created and now you can play it at 60fps with widescreen and high resolution support, modern control movements, and it works like a charm. I have never seen such bautifully crafted maps, full of secrets, shortcuts and alternative routes. To see what the original devs managed to accomplish with such limited tools puts the modern shooters to shame. The game can be brutally difficult and sometimes even cheesy hard, especially when fighting cultist, but the more you play, the more you realized how each enemy can be quickly and easily dispatch by using the right tool and the right approach. And the atmosphere is gorgeous. AAA company REALLY should learn how to make a proper FPS (and a proper remake) by looking at this product. 10/10 would buy it full priced again.

Spectacular Port!

This version of Blood is a wonderful port to someone who hasn't played prior versions of the game. The mouse movement feels great once you either unlock the frame rate(which may cause stuttering on some systems) or lock it to 240 fps(which is what I did). The combat is satisfying, though it is extremely gory. I know, who would have thought a game titled "Blood" would have blood in it, but it's a little over the top at some points. The total amount of gameplay offered is perfect, not allowing the game to outlive its stay. Yes, the game does show its age, as all games of this era do. From a gameplay standpoint alone, I would give this an 8/10, but with how good this port is at making the title feel so much more modern and enjoyable than the original, this easily gets a 9/10.
