介绍

BioShock Infinite Complete Edition includes the following DLC:

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode One
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode Two
BioShock Infinite: Clash in the Clouds
BioShock Infinite: Columbia's Finest

Indebted to the wrong people, with his life on the line, veteran of the U.S. Cavalry and now hired gun, Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.

Key Features

  • The City in the Sky – Leave the depths of Rapture to soar among the clouds of Columbia. A technological marvel, the flying city is a beautiful and vibrant world that holds a very dark secret.
  • Unlikely Mission – Set in 1912, hired gun Booker DeWitt must rescue a mysterious girl from the sky-city of Columbia or never leave it alive.
  • Whip, Zip, and Kill – Turn the city’s Sky-Lines into weaponized roller coasters as you zip through the flying city and dish out fatal hands-on punishment.
  • Tear Through Time – Open Tears in time and space to shape the battlefield and turn the tide in combat by pulling weapons, turrets, and other resources out of thin air.
  • Vigorous Powers – Throw explosive fireballs, shoot lightning, and release murders of crows as devastatingly powerful Vigors surge through your body to be unleashed against all that oppose you.
  • Custom Combat Experience – With deadly weapons in one hand, powerful Vigors in the other, and the ability to open Tears in time and space, fight your own way through the floating city of Columbia to rescue Elizabeth and reach freedom.
  • 1999 Mode – Upon finishing BioShock Infinite, the player can unlock a game mode called “1999 Mode” that gives experienced players a taste of the kind of design and balance that hardcore gamers enjoyed back in the 20th century.

Exploited grave issues for a magic trick

I wish I can say more but the character limit is going to prevent me from doing so. So here's a summary. Good: - Gorgeous steampunk theme that's realized - Great graphics for its age - A few additional features from the first Bioshock such as Skylines and Elizabeth - Impressive scoring and overall production Bad: - A bit too easy (up until the last level) because the main character is kind of overpowered - Not being able to save anytime felt like a cheap way to create an illusion of difficulty - You can only carry two weapons - Most Vigor didn't seem useful and the equipment were frogettable Ugly: - Terrible ending that ruined a whole story arc - Reckless story on how it discusses genocide, racism, and using the narratives of war criminals Bioshock Infinite gave me the impression that it was all in with its storytelling. It was the main selling point even. It was depicting the many sins of America, showing misrepresentation of minorities that were reinforced by the racists of the past, and bringing up events like the Boxer Rebellion in China and the genocide of Native Americans. Not only that, it had all the big-money funding of a large gaming company to create a feast for the senses with functioning stable game mechanics. But all that led to a game that felt like it exploited complex issues in order to make a backdrop out of it for its cheap magic trick.

Sheep in Bioschock's clothing

I am a big fan of the original Bioshock because it wasn't too linear, the weapons had lot of variety, all the little game mechanics (like hacking, sneaking, damage properties, and looting) felt cohesive, the visuals and setting felt original, and the story was really solid. It also had enough options in plasmids and tonics to customize your setup to suit your style, distincting it from generic FPS games. Some people think it's too consolized when compared to System Shock 2 and Deus Ex, but personally I like the balance it went between a classic shooter and a role-playing game. While Bioshock 2 felt like a cheap expansion, Infinite doesn't feel like a sequel at all. The beginning of the game felt familiar right up until the first enemies appeared. For the first ten minutes I kept trying to make a sneak kill until I realized the game itself didn't have any kind of stealth mechanics: the moment you make contact, every enemy is after you and things don't calm down until you kill them all. After that the next big disappointment was weapons. Almost every gun does similar damage when relative to ammo capacity and there was no difference in the type of damage you did. When combined with the two-weapon carry limit and your melee weapon turning into the usual "press Ö to finish enemy with a short cutscene" thing, all the excitement from gun action was completely gone for me. I still completed the game, but there wasn't really anything in the game that I liked. Instead of flying the skies freely with a jetpack like in Duke Nukem 3D, you were limited to clinging on a rail that looped over a section of a map. Looting was pointless since ammo machines were everywhere and there was nothing special to gain, just tons of different food that had the same effect (which was pointless with the regenerating armor/health system). I liked the old security bots of BS1 more than Elizabeth and the plot cenetering around time paradoxes felt really artificial.

Will the circle be unbroken?

This is the weirdest game I have ever played. Mostly an RPG, with pretty dated FPS elements, captivating story which is complex enough to make you think yet presented in a way you can still understand it. Music is in a league of its own: its a pack of highly thematic masterpieces, which beats Fallout 3 / 4, TES 4 and Vice City altogether. I took 80% of it onto a playlist and I can't stop listening. Voice acting is also perfect. Graphics is good even today, because of its drawn-like style. Physics are well thought - out. Theme is pretty crazy, but its created very well. And the story I found very deep and well thought-out, with nice plot twists and an intriguing finale. On the other hand, FPS elements are lackluster by today's standards. Guns and "spells" are varied enough, yet its nothing to write home about. Game doesn't tell you that you have access to all your guns all the time besides only those two in quickslots, and on longer fights ots a pretty relevant info. And the story is coherent and understandable only if you find almost all of the audio logs and hear them out, otherwise you most likely woudn't get it, which is a pretty big downside. I also found DLC content only so-so. Overall, I am impressed as all get out that you can have THAT much fun with a 9-year old game. Maybe its because I am not into FPS, but I love RPGs. Maybe its because I am a sucker for alternate realities. And maybe its because its just a damn good game, worthy of 9/10 ot gets from me.

Very 7th Gen, in every way

There's a reason people don't really talk about Bioshock Infinite anymore, other than to occasionally ponder how something as embarrassing this game got as much praise as it did at the time of its release, and that reason is that Infinite, much like all FPSs of the 7th generation of consoles, was a leap backwards in quality to what already existed and can't begin to stand up to the new releases that have come out of the boom-shoot revival era. A meagre handful of very similar enemy types, blandly linear level design, and unsatisfying weapons combine to make the experience of playing Infinite an absolute chore even before it starts boosting the health of every enemy to obnoxious hights to make up for the fact that the game, on its orginal hardware, could only render so many enemies at a time. Another 7th gen gem that makes itself often felt is the total lack of boss fights which, along with the lack of enemy variety, leads to all combat encounters bleeding together into a bland slush, the ultimate punchline of which is that the game only managed to wring about 6 hours out of the whole affair. The story has a very similar problem, simply spouting edgey nonsense at you for most of the dialouge. For all Infinite was praised for its brave criticism of rascism upon its release, the only trick the writers really had was for cartoonishly evil people to say something racist and then move on, which isn't really a criticsm of anything; it's just looking for a cheap shock. This is no different to a thirteen year old thinking putting the word "fuck" in the comics he draws makes them mature. The funnest thing about the story might be that its so poorly stiched together and its final twist so forced that Infinite must spend the last hour of its 6 hour playtime explaining the convoluted series of contrivances that occured for the twist to make even a little bit of sense at all. Awful, even for the time. Don't let anyone trick you into thinking its a classic.
