Betrayal at Krondor Pack

Good old cd-rom. Love the books, love the game. Good strategic combat, great story, cool items.

It was a great game, perhaps it still is, I am downloading now to test it out. That is no big chance, story was exelent, in those days the grapic was good, it was a gripping game in more then one sense! The music hounting... perhaps the first reason to visite the game again. Then, not to forget, I really learnt english to crack the LETTER chests :-) SoleSong

I bought this because I could not get Betrayal In Antara to install on my Win 7 machine. Figured 2 for 1 would be great. However, the graphics on the older Betrayal In Krondor are awful and there is no Betrayal In Antara. This is not the first GOG game I've had problems with, and so far have never even had a response from them much less a remedy.

Beware. The game crashes during any cinema. You MUST skip them in order to play the game. I would not recommend it.

The dated graphics and combat may turn some people off but if you give it a chance this is probably one of the best RPGs of all time. Story wise, it's an excellent and even the combat which seems lacking at first becomes more engaging as the user unlocks additional spells, etc. There's an issue where CD-Music once enabled fails to loop which GOG sadly never fixed. One workaround is to find a good soundfont like EmperorGrievous and switch over to Roland-SC which will greatly improve MIDI. This will unfortunately diminish the quality of sound-effects and drop certain voice overs but there's a community mod which will allow you to combine Roland-SC with SoundBlaster which resolves this issue. Highly recommended. If you're into open world RPGs then I'd give this one a try when it's on sale.
