A claustrophobic, paranoid and psychotic atmosphere
Over 100 locations designed by an English comic book artist and writer Dave Gibbons
Many interesting characters that move about freely and live out their own lives, thanks to the Virtual Theatre system
While it may not be quite as good as titles such as "Monkey Island", "Full Throttle', or "Day of the Tentacle', it certainly holds it's own...and at a price of $0 what have you got to lose?
Dave Gibbons famous in the comic book industry ("Martha Washington Goes To War") co-created this great point-n-click game.
The virtual theater system introduced in this game works great.
The story's good. It's Cyberpunk !
I remember having bought the collector edition featuring the comic book.
Kick's a$$.
Thank you for this conversion and for free !!!! U rock !
Beneath A Steel Sky is a very satisfying point-and-click adventure game. The characters are diverse and easy to relate to, and the interesting dystopian story (set in Australia, which, as an Australian, I can say is really awesome) is full of humour and sly jokes.
The gameplay is good overall, the items, for the most part, are easy to find and there will be lots of "look at me, aren't I clever" moments. There were, however, a few times where the puzzles were a bit too ridiculous and I was forced to consult a walkthrough. The biggest problem is that by the time you've finished the game, two thirds of your playtime will just be walking around and figuring out what to do, which is incredibly boring, especially in contrast to the great story.
Beneath A Steel Sky is a great adventure game, typical of it's genre. It has all the flaws of the point-and-click genre but it also has all the things the genre does well, and it does them better than most. A free game that is definitely worth your time.
It's a fun adventure game with humour and great puzzles. The story feels dated and the voice acting is a dodgy but other than that a great game to play. It's easy too, you can easily play that while doing something else as you only need one hand and except for a few moments there is no rush to play constantly.
