Bendy and the Ink Machine takes players down a corrupted nostalgia trip, full of old school cartoon characters mixed with twisted horror. Exploration, puzzle solving, and the occasional fight are the name of the game, even if the save system could be better. If you don't enter Joey Drew Studios for the gameplay, you'll be enthralled by the story.

Despite the gameplay issues, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a fun and creative survival-horror title. Its excellent graphical design and tense atmosphere create a solid backdrop for horrifying shenanigans. An intriguing story motivates players to keep going and find out what's happening next. Bendy delivers fun, and it delivers scares with a tasteful "less is more" formula that builds up the horror as we go. Unique puzzles and collectibles encourage exploration and advance the story to keep players engaged. It's an unorthodox type of horror game, but Bendy and the Ink Machine utilizes two opposite genres that complement each other to create a solid title. The use of cartoon characters in a horror atmosphere blends the purity of animated characters with the terrifying ideals of a scientist gone mad. As we progress, we learn sad truths behind the animation team that led to the spiraling downfall of innocent people. Bendy and the Ink Machine may be a sleeper hit, but it's worth any survival-horror fan's time.

Solid indie game, fun concepts

This is a solid indie game with some fun concepts. It took me around four hours to get through the story. There are strong influnces from Bioshock on the setting, quest design, and some gameplay elements. However, there is less combat, which is probably a good thing since it's not a strength of this game. I would have enjoyed more wordbuilding, although this might be in the sequel. The concept, enemy designs, and atmosphere were engaging. Don't get this game for its combat or puzzles, but it's a solid game for its occasional spooks and unique visuals.

Not bad just a bit cumbersome

Watched the series get played alot when I was younger. Glad to snag a copy for a decent price on GOG. I did have some difficuties with minor bugs and glitches but no game is 100% perfect 24/7. If possible please do give BatIM a try if it goes on sale sometime!

Game works faster than Steam!

I am getting more FPS on GOG Galaxy with this game than Steam I really wish GOG Galaxy would adopt other games in the future! Got my controller working but I wish it would work similar to Steam rather than games being picky on the controller. GOG Galaxy is indeed good for gaming but still needs work on the controller support.

The game is lots of fun to playthrough till your reach the final chapter then things feel they get messy and confusing when it comes to strory

Typical horror game

Standard horror design fare. Environment gets pretty dull to look at after the first chapter. Most of the game is spent waiting for something more interesting to happen. The tension is lost pretty early on.
