STORY
Johan, an introverted young man from the countryside, finds himself thrown into a conflict beyond his comprehension. The Aeons—-an enigmatic & cultish militia—move ever closer to his isolated hometown.
Now faced with a threat to his once-elysian life, Johan must decide the role he is destined to play in their escalating conflict.
At his side are Aiden, the mysterious son of an exiled warrior, who has trained since childhood in the mystic arts; and Crysta, a runaway noblewoman intent on ending the war before it reaches her family.
Through his coming-of-age journey, Johan confronts the ghosts of his family trauma, his passions and sensuality, and ultimately his own demons.

There are mature themes in the game, but not any that would typically be considered triggering. And there is 1 scene of violence that is more graphic than the rest of the game, as the standard battles have no real visual violence.

Completely captured my attention from the moment I picked it up. The music and feeling throughout the entire game really reminded me of some older ninento games I played when I was younger.
The combat took some getting used to at first, but was rather enjoyable. With some nuances I had to appreciate.
Additionally, the story captured my heart. Do hope that people give it a try and share it around.
It was a shock to me to see a game that doesn't focus on trying to be about gay affirmation or LGBT or questioning your sexuality. This is an RPG that focuses on literally being an rpg from the story to the gameplay. The characters are well written and feel like they have personalities rather than making their identity about their personality and while I'm not LGBT myself, I have LGBT friends who enjoyed the game for not pushing away people who are anti-lgbt. Someone who is afraid of gay relationships might not even know there was one to begin with.
The game has very fun combat and a lot of opportunities for customization through leveling up. You can also upgrade weapons and magic. It feels like this game is inspired by many rpgs of many kinds. The pacing is excellent and knew when to amp up things and went to pull it back and let the player have a damn break from all the violence, darkness, and corruption.
The villains were my favorite as a few of them were insufferable and disgusting. One of them reminded me of luca blight from suikoden 2. Horrendous.
There is a lot of exploring for the player and you can find a lot of upgrades and items and side quests give you a lot of good rewards. The beginning of the game is a big tough at first but you'll get stronger and it becomes easier with time if you make the right choices. I think the ending needed a bit more explanations but overall, the story was very mature and that was a very good point to me. It's much better than some other indie rpgs in story because it isn't afraid to be dark, violent and twisted. I feel Sea of Stars fails and that game was not even a real indie game becuz it had over 100 people and many partnerships.
Beloved Rapture feels like a true indie rpg deserving of its title thru and thru. It shows it has as small a team as shown credits and was made with a lot of heart and passion to be a cool experience that anyone can enjoy, rather than a small niche market.
