Incubation is super cool
You can manage to run it in windows 10/11 by checking the appropriate thread in the forum, the expansion of Incubation (Wilderness Missions) it's a chore.

Military Madness for the PC
Players who remember Military Madness on the TurboGrafx-16 or Nectaris on the PC will enjoy Battle Isle. Incubation is a turn-based, tactical strategy game similar to X-Com. All of these games are great fun and the volume of game content in this package is impressive.

Not anymore...
Look, don't get me wrong, I loved the battle isle series (even drew some fan comics based on the games!) but it just doesn't work...even with the help of Dosbox. The controls are like a shopping trolley, going all over the place and half the time they don't even work. The graphics have a hard time adjusting to modern pc's and the animations run at super speeds. Not very satisfying when you want to see your hard thought out strategy pay off!

Incubation
I also bought it only to play Incubation. It is a great turn based strategy game, just wish it was longer, like Spellcross, I hope that GOG will release that gem too, gameplay takes a month and it is also based on economy and research along with a breath taking story.

Would be perfect
Firstly, I haven't played much BI1 or 3. BI1 is just a step too far into clunky for me. Incubation is fun for a while, but does get very difficult. Good atmosphere, though. I bought this for BI2, a game I loved but never completed. Now I remember why. The music, controls, units and missions are all excellent. Unfortunately, some missions have a turn limit. But the game doesn't tell you in the briefing, and doesn't give you any visible indicator. You can play a mission for hours, then suddenly get a "Game over" message. You can't go back to a recent save as it is the same game, you won't have had enough turns left. If GOG had added an option to remove turn limits the game would have been perfect, and highly recommended. With the turn limits it is just too frustrating.
