Battle Isle Platinium is pure strategy combined with a compelling backstory. Consisting of the first four installments of the series, it offers the opportunity to play and experience a huge chunk of Battle Isle history, from the very beginnings on up to the events on Scayra, the colonial planet of Chromos – a planet so distant and yet so similar to Earth. The history of the Kais and the Drulls is one comprised of only a few Chromian centuries, but centuries with one war following the other, with destruction and upheaval determining the development of Chromian society.

Since Incubation is an old favorite of mine, I created an overhaul mod for the 25th anniversary.

4 great games for $10. Battle Isle pretty much defined standard for hexagonal strategies of that time, featuring a ton of strategic options.
Battle Isle 2 added animated 3D fight scenes, upgraded the AI and expanded the options, culminating into Battle Isle 3 - the engine at it's fullest potential.
Battle Isle is a hard nut to crack. Starting from the 2nd installment supplies start to make a huge difference. Your army can't fight without ammo or fuel! Radar coverage, long range bombardment and quick flanking units start to make a difference on the large battlefield.
But what about Incubation? It's plain excellent. It's a turn based squad game that can rival with the best - Jagged Alliance and XCOM. Variety of enemies, weapons and missions provides a timeless enjoyment.
For strategy enthusiasts, this package is a MUST.

Excellent game finally playable on GOG under windows 10. HIGH FIVE!
Geee!!! I can't believe it! I dreamed it, Gog made it!
The battle isle series was great, but their ancestor, present in its collection is the best turn based strategy game ever : History Line! The graphics are obviously dated, but I never could find such quality after this game! IA is perfect : challenging and at the same time can be beated. The maps are rich.
The battle Isle episodes are definitely good too, even if according to me, they couldn't compete with the original.
My only thought about history line is that the controls were made with joystick. I really hope that in this adaptation, a change in the controls system has been made. As soon as I finish this review, I'm buying and downloading the game. So I'll know soon enough. :)
Battle Isle can be regarded as one of the grandfathers of turn-based strategy. I still remember how I played the first one with my cousin splitscreen for hours.
But, in my opinion, the real gem here is Incubation, one of my absolute favorite games out there. It's a classic, an excellent blend between turn-based strategy and RPG (you can assign experience points to your soldiers and level them up in different fields).
A must buy for every fan of turn-based strategy!
