When I beat Bastion for the first time, I reloaded my save and played through for the second ending. When that was done, I started my new game plus. I'm not the repeat type of gamer, but Bastion's leveling, weapon upgrades, and difficulty tweaks are just too gosh-darn addictive. The story could've been better, but it doesn't matter. This game is amazing and you owe it to yourself to download it.

As long as you're not expecting a profoundly original artistic vision, Bastion delivers on its gameplay. Bastion's main strengths are twofold – the combat is satisfying and varied, and the customization options are robust. Our only major complaints are fairly nitpicky – it's easy to fall of ledges (especially if you're using the shotgun weapon, which causes significant kickback and often kicks thekid off the edge of the world), and when you find a new weapon you're forced to equip it until you can get to a nearby armory to swap it out, which can be particularly annoying if it de-equips your favorite weapon. These are small issues in the larger picture though, and Bastion is still overwhelmingly well-executed.

what a fun game (for a while)

When I started the game I said what a fun game with some cool things. Very nice music, fun that the world builds around you as you go along and fun gameplay. I played it with a controller. It's pure hack and slash game. The narrator is cool too with some jokes about your playing and everything you're doing. There is a story but after a while I didn't listen anymore. After about 75 % of the game I got bored of it and just wanted it to end. After you finish the game you can play a story mode again with every weapon at your disposal and all buildings but I don't feel the need to play again. so conclusion for me: fun in between game (when you don't want to think a lot) that is maybe just long enough, nice graphics and very good music

Really good, but fairly short

If you like dungeon crawlers, there is no reason not to dig this one up. This is one of the better ones we have seen in a long while, and you will have fun while running around to fix the Bastion… and the world. If you are into old-school action games, you will probably get a lot out of this too, since this is a very action oriented game, complete with the keys to success being to learn the patterns of your enemies. It is a pretty short game, but at $15, this shouldn’t hold you back. It’s worth the price.

It's a fine game.

Well, first of all, let me say that I just don't get ARPGs, they're not for me. They bore me and I find them repetitive and grindy beyond measure. That said I still managed to enjoy Bastion. It wasn't a blast, but it certainly wasn't a chore. From a technical standpoint, the game handles fllawlessly, visually it's beautiful to look at, and as far as sound design goes, both music and sound effect fit the mood and theme perfectly. The game itself is ok, like I said, not my cup of tea, but that's not the game's fault but mine. It's a good game, and my experience with it was a fine one, not great, not excellent, just fine. And that's fine.

Man, this brings back memories...

...Basically, after almost 7 years without a pc, but still a teenager, Bastion (together with Cave Story, was my very first game I had that... welp, makes me still play to this very day. Now, I won't go in detail as to why this game made me love indie games... or gaming, in general. All I can say, It's not just about gameplay, which is extremely solid and with some minor innovation (at least, for the time), it was... everything. SuperGiant games, of which I became I fan of every single game they published, managed to create something that employs every single senses (story, music, way to tell a story, etc...) to give not a game, but a tale to live in. Even if you are not an indie, or an isometric action, or gdr, or whatever genre you like.. if you are a videogame's fan, Bastion is the experience to have. One truly memorable.
