I cannot believe people giving negative review to this game. It's perfect on every aspect:
- Deep character creation & gameplay, similar to what you can expect from a D&D game;
- Perfect graphics and animations. It feels like watching a movie during the cut scenes since the voice acting, animations & camera moves are so good;
- Music is good;
- You really feel like it's a RPG: a lot of characters which seem to really exist with their own personalities + EVERY choice counts, depending on the dialogues, character talking and rolls, the story can be massively different.
Honestly, just buy it, what are you waiting for?
What older Baldur's Gate games would have looked like if they had more tech back then. To anyone unsure about $60 for an EA title I suggest not purchasing it until it's finished. Personally, I really enjoy playing while it's in development so that I can help shape the game with feedback. However, if you want something finished for $60 Cyberpunk is around the corner.
Story-Neat way of getting co-operation out of npcs that usually wouldn't work together.
Characters-Unique, with different perspectives n goals.
Music-Good, but need more tunes.
Choices-Each encounter can be handled various ways.
Multiplayer-Up to 4?, but I haven't tried it yet.
I am a die hard fan of both BG1 and BG2 from back in the day - This is a worthy successor to the franchise.
It does an amazing job of replicating a fun and cahllenging PC game experience as well as replicating a tabletop D&D game.
I am utterly hooked!
well done Larian Studios.
As most, I absolutely love this game. So, why 4 stars? No tutorial, really. It took me very long to figure out what to do and how to do it. I had to get a friend who had already been playing the game to help me along with YouTube. Typically that would kind of be a 1 or 2 star for me but holy cow. Once I got accustomed to the playstyle and everything the game has blown me away in every aspect.
The voice acting and music is 5 star. The animations are probably the best I have ever seen. I denied the romantics of one of my team members and their sad looks they gave as they walked away was so heart breaking I was truly torn.
The environment is gorgeous and highly interactive. The options seem endless.
Everything is just so freaking good, if you can figure out how to play and put a little time in you WILL love this game.
