It is so rare these days that a game of this size and complexity is released free of major bugs yet so deep and enriched. But BG 3 is just that. Are there minor items that will be patched? Of course, but they are just that - minor.
The story seemed interesting, but having to control every single action of every single character in your party just gets tiring.
If you're playing DnD, you also don't have to control the combat of the other characters in your team.
I expected something closer to Pillars of Eternity, which does give you the option to at least let your party members be controlled by AI.
Puts other games to shame and is the game other developers aspire to make. The quality is so high that you realize how terrible modern games are in comparison. No DRM, very modding friendly, and no microtransactions. Lots of paths to choose in the story that'll change the world. It's meant to be replayed and experimented with different builds.
Does it have issues? Sure, but they're not significant enough to take away from the overall experience and the game does so much right that they are easy to overlook. They're constantly releasing patches and updating the game. You can also mod the game to fix anything you don't like as well. Really a game you'll be able to play for years and one you can enjoy even if this doesn't seem like your type of game. Easily one of the greatest video games ever made.
Frankly, you should buy it out of principle at this point.
I'll keep this short and sweet.
When you start playing the game it feels like you are dipping your toes into a nice warm pool. The longer you play the more you realize you are floating around in an enormous ocean with near endless possibilities.
Buy the game and have fun.
That is all.
