I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in this game, and look forward to more once released. I like that I can mix and match my party, and will not lose the alignment variety as I work to save Baldur's Gate.
It just works...
Barely any bugs, polished game experience, complete game, a lot of freedom, avant-garde game mechanics, charming and humorous details, finally a full game worth a full price-tag?
Thank YOU Larian! In your face big studio trash-quality releases.
I've been playing those rpgs since they exist, so far only planescape: torment (followed by fallout 2) had this something, and I’m not talking only about good writing, vast world, nonlinear quests and believable npcs, something more I waited two decades to experience again, and BG3 definitely has it… in this case, cake is not a lie
Hands down my favourite RPG it's like Divinity Original Sin 2 but everything is improved upon and significantly better. So many options for different playthroughs that feel entirely unique to the previous. Fun and so much content and environment to explore.
But if what you find intrigues you, this game is lightning in an enormous, expansive, generous bottle, and it's definitely an experience that deserves your attention. It feels like the sort of game you can replay several times and still find new content.
Story is much better than I expected, knowing absolutely nothing of the setting. Turn-based gameplay feels like an evolution from previous Larian titles, character arcs are surprisingly satisfying and it's visually fairly impressive, considering the sheer amount of content on display.
No microtransactions, no BS, no fuss.
Just a great, well-written, well-made RPG with a few big surprises in store and characters that feel refreshingly aware and alive in a world that actively reacts to your decisions. In very big ways.
Could not be happier with this purchase, and deeper mod support seems to be on the way.
Might be my GOTY so far.
