Baldur’s Gate 3 is something special, though. Its complexity is intimidating, but sticking with it and learning has such a high reward threshold that it's hard to not recommend the sequel to even the most casual gamers out there. It has heart, it has style, and it has the multi-year effort of a studio that obviously loves its source material. The mind-blowing size of the game itself and everything contained within is a testament to Larian Studios' dedication to its craft and commitment to bringing something incredible to the gaming public. The blend of the various Dungeon & Dragons systems into the game is almost flawless in its execution, and the math and storytelling combo does a one-two punch on almost every other RPG game out there. High quality and astoundingly fun, Baldur’s Gate 3 may just become the kind of game that old and new fans can agree is something extraordinary.

Better than D&D
Do you want to play D&D but doesn't have any friends? BG3's got you. Jokes aside, if you like RPG this has an amazing story to get hooked on.

Very likely the best game ever made
I'm a casual; I like a casual game that I can really dig into the story. In my D&D games, I tend to focus a lot on puzzles and dialogue. A lot of times, games are very combat heavy with the occasional bone thrown to us social-monkeys. This is not one of those games. I've put nearly 150 hrs in and there's still so much more to see and try. And I haven't even touched the Origin characters. Plus the modding community is on top of it. I do just a little bit - allowing more party members, or adding additional classes, or new aesthetics during character creation. Due to my own meddling, I've borked up my mods install; Forcing me to restart the game anew when it wouldn't load due to mods mismatch. The newest patch has a mod manager, which is super exciting and I'm looking forward to trying it out. The depth of the story, of each character's stories make you want to talk to each person on the street with a name. Spend the money, these Larian folks are the real deal in today's re-selling of nostalgia back to us. This game has consumed my waking hours for months now - and while my roommate is tired of seeing the gorgeous visuals on my ultra wide screen, I never will. I actually took screen shots (F10 to hide the UI) and set them as my desktop images. Just breathtaking in its entirety and with tremendous replay value. This is a real spiritual successor to Divinity 2 from the same studio.
