BG3 is not a worthy successor of BG1 & 2. If you're looking for a tactical real-time game with a large group go to Pillars of Eternity. You'll also get better immersion, better writing, and just video game gameplay instead of copy pasta from d&d. Builds are unreadable, progress is weirdly capped and items are so unbalanced it's laughable.
That said, BG3 does manage to bring something to the table, though nothing new to Larian players. Surface mechanics, consumables, unsolvable puzzles and nice exploration based on jumping and teleportation. There's ton of erotica if you're into it though.
The game is unfinished with blank areas at the end, trivial difficulty and overall way too much hype for the content and the price tag.
BG3 is worth every bit of the hype! The story is unlike anything I've experienced before, and the depth is absolutely incredible. You truly feel like you know the characters by the end of the game which is a testament for how much love and care went into crafting BG3's world. I love this game and definitely would place it in my top 5. This is also the first turn based combat RPG I've played outside of KOTOR and KOTOR 2, and I really enjoyed the combat. The mechanics were engaging and I never felt bored even after spending 30 minutes on a single fight (I'm sure you could do them faster if you want, I might just be bad at the game). Pick up BG3 if you want an engaging, fun game with an incredble story!
