Custom portraits are easy and free.
Buyer beware. A simple Google search for "baldur's gate custom portraits" will list the instructions on how to install your own custom portraits as well as downloads of them. This game is very old, and thousands of free portraits that other players have made are out there. If you just want to support the developers, by all means - it's your money. This DLC, however, is unnecessary.

Seriously, I rarely get a chance to write PURELY a negative review as I strive to find value in anything, but this is a rare case when there really isn't ANYTHING good to say about a product nor is there much to say to begin with. This DLC offers you preciously what is written: 6 character portraits. That is LITERALLY it. You pay over 2$ for SIX portraits... and, just for the record, they seem kinda off compared to the style of portraits in the original game, so their design just ISN'T adjusted in any way for the game's artistic choices. If you google yourself "Baldur's Gate portraits" you'll get HUNDREDS of portaits and while a great deal of them isn't in the art style of the game either (or just they aren't very good), there are gems among them... I myself have came across about FIFTY that I liked and found going well with other portaits that I've downloaded them to us in the game. FIFTY, FREE and MORE MATCHING THE GAME portraits than Beamdog is offering to you for a FEE. Now I am not negative towards BG:EE; it's nothing special compared to the original game, but I don't exactly subscribe to the crucification it gets, but THIS is an insult... in EVERY sense of the word; a shameless money grab that, in my opinion, only people not exactly right in the head would go for... or those that have too much money to begin with. If I could, I would not give this a single star, but sadly GOG has no such option.

Beamdog will sell air soon
When I hear or read the name "Beamdog", nothing surprises me. This name associates with a strongly money-oriented company trying to make a profit of everything possible and impossible. I suspect the next they will start selling air. Bladur's Gate was once a good game and is still a good game. The version re-released by Beamdog has nothing to do with "enhancement" or "improvement". It's just a way for Beamdog to get some money from the famous title. I still cannot understand how it's possible to take an old but gold game and start selling it again. The so-called "enhancements" are just mods available for years for free from the community. Nobody sells mods but "Beamdog". The quality of the re-release is also questionable. It may be good for playing on a tablet with Android, but when installed on PC, the graphics is significantly worse than the original graphics of the original game. My sincere advise is just stay away from anything produced by Beamdog and do not support them. This way you'll show respect to the original creators and to modders creating a new and high-quality content for years and for free.

Don't pay for something you already have
If you have BGII:EE, these portraits are in your game files already. Just extract BGEE.lua with Near Infinity and add these lines to the portraits table: {'YANNER1', 2}, {'YANNER2', 1}, {'YANNER3', 2}, {'YANNER4', 1}, {'YANNER5', 1}, {'YANNER6', 1}, You can also use NI to extract the portraits themselves and copy them to BG or IWD.
