It took me about 4 hours to beat the game, and it still felt like it dragged on way too long.
The artwork and music are charming, but that's about all there is to enjoy. Movement and combat feel clunky, I ran into a few bugs while playing, and you are barred from facing the final boss until you have collected enough party members over all your runs.
You'll replay a lot of the same content over and over trying to collect all the party members, and there's very little done to keep that replaying interesting. Just save your time and your money and skip this one.
Getting right to the point, this game is short yet still manages to feel repetitive and lacking in content. But hey, it has some nice art at least.
There are only 4 areas to explore, they all operate essentially in the same way, and progress is locked behind guessing correct dialogue choices, rather than playing well.
To progress in the game you need to collect stars. These stars are collected by recruiting characters to your party. There are 8 to collect in total. This is the first issue, as the main hinderance to completing the game on the first try, is that you end up having to pick a string of 2-4 correct dialogue options in order to get them on your team. For me, this meant replaying the same boirng, pointless areas over and over just to get another shot at the dialogue with the last character needed to proceed to the next section of the game.
The next issue, is that all of the areas operate in the exact same way. Explore a small area, flip 3 switches to open a gate to the next area, and recruit 2 characters to get stars. Then it's on to the dungeon of the area, where you look for a key and beat a boss. The main issue is that there is literally nothing to discover or find past your first time through each area, but you'll most likely be forced ro play them several times to unlock the stars you need, cause you didn't know what dialogue option was correct. But there is no interesting loot, new weapons or anything interesting to find. You literally just rush through to get back to the character you need to get on your team.
So ultimately, this was a very disappointing experience. Very eaasy combat and exploration, ridiculously pointless dialogues where you have to guess right to progress the game, and incredibly repetitive gameplay in general. Very difficult to recommend this one.
The game does not recognize or bad the gamepad and not at all the mouse.
When the game has settled its control problem or finally play it.
It's a must if the game can configure the controls.
Found out about this game from a Nintendo Direct I think about a year ago now and it looked AWESOME. Loved the art style and silly-ness of it all. But given that it was a FPS, I thought it would be better to have on PC rather than Switch.
This game is a Rouge-lite where you play as a boy trying to figure out why the company LabiWorks is destroying your house and this sends you on an adventure to find out the truth!
The unique twist is that you recruit characters as your "weapons." The 2D art is great and the characters, while kind of one note can be kind of funny.
Problem is the gameplay is not great. It quickly becomes boring and uninteresting very quickly.
Your main character uses a stick to attack and you get other weapons in the form of the other characters but they get "tired" quickly from attacking and then you are right back to the stick. The stick is fine for a weapon but that means you must melee attack and while the range is generous it get repetitive. Especially in later levels where you have hoards of enemies attacking you. Run up, attack, back up, rinse repeat till dead.
Pros
-Cute 2D Art Style
-Humorous Dialogue
-Enjoyable music at times
Cons
-Boring and repetitious combat
-Characters lose all personality once they are in your party
-Due to the rouge-like nature, it makes you endure more boring combat
Again, I can see the love that was put into this game, I didn't have any crashes or problems during gameplay. I can see that this was a passion project, it just ended falling a bit flat. I would take a pass on this game, at least for now.
This game needs some work, but it has good bones. I don't like how tthe cheese burgers don't replenish exhausted characters. I would also like a controll maop so i know what each button does. Overall not a bad experience
