Poorly balanced game
The difficulty ramps up far too quickly early in the game, when every fight ahead of you wipes out your party before you have any chance of winning, and there are no easy fights left to level up with. The game even tells you to lower the difficulty level so you will have more fun. How about you fix the difficulty scaling in the game instead? You've had literally decades to play test this.

Great old-style RPG
Avernum is one of the last great old-school fantasy RPG series. Spiderweb software has been making amazing RPG series for decades now and this is an updated version of one of the best series Spiderweb has made. This isn't a triple-A game title, but what it lacks in cutting edge graphics it makes up for with real heart. The story and gameplay are excellent. There's rich depth here. The updated story is even better, with more locations and options for you to explore. It is worth every penny to check out this entire series of games if you're into RPGs with deep story telling and turn-by-turn combat mechanics.

Game seems Good, I just cant play it
Game seems promising and I like vibes and story and style... And one hour later I just quit cause I was becaming blind trying to loock at it and reading it. Text is just incredible small in a normal screen resolution (and Im in bit text, not sure text size just in normal mode). Icons are tiny, mouse is tiny, everyting is just soooo small, UI is a disaster, maybe its ready for a 720p resolution or a 480p, not sure, I wish I could play it, I just cant.

Very addictive
I just wanted to have a look at this game. It made me stop playing Oblivion and Pillars of Eternity. Sooo addictive, it's pass the midnight already and I can't get myself to go to sleep. Just a little bit more...
