Fuck this piece of shit, this is a port of a mobile port for fuck's sake. It has removed scenes and puzzles. Don't buy this crap, order the original PC game from ebay and apply the retail patch and play the game how it was meant to be!
I owned the originals Atlantis one and two. The best one for me is, and will always be, the first for the great ambiance, the outstanding music (I'm thinking about the sunrider theme) and fun puzzles.
The second is also good, but with a strange level of difficulty and really easy compare to the first one (Except for the maya's part wich have some hard and fun parts). The story is very good and some of the musics are nice (But i had to shut down the sound in china, my speakers were crying XD).
God my post was longer then expected, sorry about that. It's still wort playing!
The game itself is amazing. Wonderful graphics, varied worlds, concepts that carry through the different games, and difficult puzzles that make you think.
The only real problem is the cutscenes seem not to want to work, unless there is interactive conversation. Having no cutscenes is a downer and the only reason this game doesnt get 5 stars here.
As a teenager I loved the first Atlantis so much, that I even wrote a whole walkthrough by myselfe. Over the years I tried several times to buy and play Atlantis 2, but always there were compatibility problems. So I was pretty happy to find it now on Gog. Finally.
I played already the first 2 chapters, but the game seemed ... well, to be pretty simple. No puzzles at all. Only walking from one point to another and collecting stuff on the ground. Also no character animations during the talks with other people.
After reading a walkthrough and watching a Lets Play its defintely the case, that A LOT of content is missing. No puzzles at all! Of course, they were sometimes frustrating in the first game, but it is part of this series. In this MAC version the puzzles are solved automatically, when you combine the right stuff from your inventory with the fitting object. This is just not the Atlantis I was hoping for the last couple of years.
As the most voted review highlights, the problem with this game are the nonsensical story "embellished" by nonsensical puzzles. I have played the first Atlantis game, as well; already some of the puzzles were completely absurd. But this second instalment makes even less sense. The story and the three main locations have basically nothing to do with the "Atlantis" theme. The puzzles are unnerving because (apart from very few of them, based on mathematics) they are absolutely arbitrary, that is, without connection to the story; they are completely out of the blue. You receive no hints for them from the other characters or environment, OR the hints are extremely, extremely obscure. Like for the order to light up the incenses in China.... The result is a frustrating game experience. Either you are able to enter the game writers' minds, or the only alternative is to try and try and try in vain, until you succeed. I have played also another Cryo game, "Ring", with the same frustration. There are way better adventure game houses around there.
