Assassin’s Creed® is a game that redefined the action-adventure genre. With photo-realistic graphics, an advanced physics model, and a nearly fanatical attention to detail, this title was able to begin a new chapter in gaming history. However, the excellent technical aspects are only half of the reason why it became so popular; the other half is the story.
While you technically play the game as Desmond Miles, the main focus of the game takes place elsewhere. The year is 1191: Jerusalem, the middle of the Third Crusade. You are a member of a mysterious order of assassins where you have trained your whole life to do one thing and one thing only – to kill. The recently growing influence of the Order of the Knights Templar disturbs the delicate balance of power in the region and therefore directly threatens The Brotherhood. The clash of the two most powerful organizations in Jerusalem at the time has the most unexpected consequences and triggers devastating events that threaten the world itself, and you – Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad – are in the middle of all this.
Well-constructed story that will pleasantly surprise you many times along the way.
Impressive level of interaction with the environment – crowds react to what you do and act accordingly.
Open world gameplay lets you to decide how and when to achieve objectives, where to go, and gives you nearly complete freedom to get there.

Constant freezing, bugs, crashes and no proper controller support for a console port.
Stay away from this one if you don't want to deal with the constant stream of issues you're going to encounter
The game is cool, but very outdated and super repetitive. I didn't have any problem with it, playing on Windows 10; no bug, crash or anything. I only had to install the Eagle Patch to use a controller and that's it.
You can see why this game spawned a franchise. The overarching story is interesting, the parkour is primitive by todays standards but still a lot of fun. The cutscenes after a kill are pure kino and researching Abstergo is really cool, but the cameras everywhere recording your every move make you feel like an idiot regardless.
Now onto the bad. The characters are edgy and not interesting. The only one that was halfway decent was Malik, but he gets hardly any screen time. The parkour is extremely janky, you'll miss jumps somehow at important times, there are enemies that push you into guards causing an alert or into the insta-kill water, and there are beggars who will never get out of your face when you're trying to sneak around. Throwing knives make the game way too easy, but you can choose not to use them. The voice acting for the main character is awful and he is completely unlikeable.
if you buy this game, be ready to fix it before you play.
this game requires hex editing to get rid of stutters or you can try putting the old server that this game uses on a block list but there is no real chance it will get rid of the stutters. good game, held back by the work that you need to do to get a good experience.
Stutters badly quite often. Given that it's such an old game, and we played it in a decent configuration PC back in the day, it should run smoothly in modern machines. But it doesn't really. Not even I lower graphic settings. Fix something maybe?
