Well,what i can say about the best of the best??? 1.Great Story 2.Great GamePlay (its a BattleField 2 but for 1 player (it has multiplayer too)) 3.Full of Mods of any kind (zombie,weapons,armies,etc) 4.Great AI (except for the thing of the forests) 5.Great graphics (for 2001 era not for now of course!,but with some mods it can get at the level of ArmA) well,those where the basic points.,here is the full review You are a soldier,living quietly on malden (1 of the 4 islands),its boring,you cant wait more and then from then and now you jumo into a full-scale battle agaisnt the russians who invade Nogova,Kolgujev and Everon,you must fight all your way to liberate those islands with the help of squad mates,helicopters,planes,sabotage missions,parachute missions,surviving in hotile territory,its all out war soldier like you never imagined Resistance: Well this the Official Expasion Pak. NEW CONTENT!: Pistols added Lol wut new campaing: FIGHT FOR THE LIBERATION OF NOGOVA! I've been playing Operation Flashpoint since it came out many years ago (10 to be exact.). I don't know what they did with version 1.99 (this one), but it runs better than ever before. Gameplay is the most realistic of all FPS and the tactical command element makes this game a little of everything (fps, strategy, sim.....). The mission editor is the best of any game.....EVER! Within minutes you can set up a skirmish, so the game is never the same twice. This game is very unique in video game history and is a must have for any collection.

I still have the original boxing and resistance but it did not work on Windows 7. I have been meaning to tell Gog to get this.....I am amazed they have this. This is the only open ended FPS that am aware off. To create your own missions to download mods which make this so awesome. Plus the ai is not stupid (sometimes tho) and its realistic. If you get shot in the head your dead! You could take a shot in the chest and the leg or arm and survive but you can not shot straight. Also, You can drive vehicles and tanks, planes and automobiles, but they realistic no matter they are alot of fun too. The only thing might be the graphics as it is old now, but that does not bother me. Enjoy this, the best game on this site. :p

Until its "spiritual sequel," ARMA, this game (then called "Operation Flashpoint") had a permanent place on my hard drive for years. I played it multiplayer. I played it single-player. I made missions. I downloaded missions. I would say things like, "Battlefield What?" It's (somewhat) realistic, unlike a lot of other first-person warfare games. A single well-placed (or highly explosive) shot can kill you instantly. While it's possible (in the right scenarios) to brute force / Rambo your way through, the game generally requires careful tactics, keeping your eyes open, and coordinating with your team (human or AI). And knowing when to duck, find cover, and run.

Always wanted to try an arma game and saw this one for 6 bucks. later found out it was a re release of Operation flashpoint but didn't take nothing away. this game is quite amazing i'd have to say i just love that grungy difficult hard unforgiving feeling in a video game! this game works flawlessy in wine as well so i was really happy about that (really didn't want to get on my brothers PC to play this one!) take care guys and good game!
