In 2666 a young freighter pilot called William Drake sets out to search for the heritage of a mythical ancestor. He is looking for adventure - and finds greed, ruthlessness, merciless hatred… and also unexpected help. But very soon he has to realize that he is not the only one hunting for his ancestor's legendary treasure.
You will become a member of a group of eight mercenaries crossing the oceans. The crew is crammed together in the claustrophobic atmosphere of a freighter: Always on the lookout for loot and the legendary treasure… and always afraid they themselves might become the victims of their unknown enemies.
Unique underwater environments
Upgradable submarines with a variety of parts and weapons
The greatest graphics of its time with few signs of aging even today
"Light!" - like this the inhabitants of the world Aqua say "Hello!" I make it short:
+ fine soundtrack
+ superb dystopic underwater atmosphere
+ very well done game-mechanics
+ involving characters
+ interesting story and challenging quests
+ funny, dynamic dialogues in spite of not animated visual contacts
Play & enjoy!
Haven't played Archimedean Dynasty yet but compared to AquaNox (which is still a good game), I think AquaNox 2 is the better game. The way the story is told is a bit more immersive and the game feels deeper as far as inventory management and game play.
Similar to the first, there's still one or two missions that require close attention to radio messages to accomplish (such as taking out snipers BEFORE the enemies directly in front of you) but this was not much of an issue compared to AquaNox 1.
It's a little difficult to get running in Wine, but I found running Wine in windowed mode with captured mouse did the trick for me.
For the price, TOTALLY RECOMMEND!
I like this game a lot...I loved atmosphere in first game. I missed that a lot at beginning. When i digged into Aquanox 2 - suprisingly fast after couple missions i started to enjoy this adventure. Very easy i connect with in game characters. Nice action and atmosphere. Challenging. Addictive. I like this game a lot. There is deep in this game. Underwater deep and characters deep.
The gameplay is very nice, and the controls are pretty easy to use. There are several upgrades and fun things to keep you interested in the combat aspects of the game. The missions overall are interesting, however, the storyline is boring.
I tried to keep interested, but it begins the same people saying the same 5 lines over and over. The storyline and voice acting is quite horrible overall, and it makes you cringe at the end. It is also rather hard to follow, and difficult to understand. A problem is that you can't just skip one dialog, you have to either skip it all and scroll back up which is a pain in the ass, or listen to it all.
There are several enemies to fight against, 5 ship types, and several guns to keep you interested in the game. It' not bad overall, but the long/boring storyline does hurt it.
