ANNO 1701 is the most elaborate and expensive game production in the German speaking region and the sequel to the most successful, multi-million selling game series of all times. The third part of the unique combination of different genres creates a real-time building game and is also set in 16th and 17th century, the era of discoveries and maritime trade.

For the first time, players of all experience levels were included in the development and could help significantly to make the unique gaming experience now even more accessible. The player is engaged in creating, expanding and maintaining a flourishing metropolis, while communicating with other players or interacting with other parties via trade or diplomacy.

Crashes too much

I like the game but this version crashes too much. It crashes often while saving destroying the save game file.

MP is broken, no MP method works.

None of the provided multiplayer features seem to work. gamespy.. dead LAN.. nobody uses these days direct IP... no option to host.. no guide if you are on the same network/ip even.

Good game with terrible multiplayer

I already know Anno 1701. Now I wanted to play with a friend and shared the game with him but it is not possible to play it in LAN because we constantly getting "wrong version" errors when trying to connect. I am a little disappointed that there is no more helpful information in the internet and no real solution for this problem. We tried to go with compatability mode, oder patches, changing serial number and so on but nothing worked. Still mad. M.B.

Super boring.

Another really boring game that doesn't draw you in at all. Just pointless building with no satisfaction. Just felt like a chore more than a game.
