During the first half of the 21st century, the war on terror became a global phenomenon, as more blatant and frenzied attacks struck deeper into the lives of common people. Inevitably, the public outcry to stop the madness grew to an irresistible level; the military forces of the world slowly but steadily retooled their approach, weapons, and tactics to combat people who were willing to die for their cause. One of the consequences was the harassment of civilians on an unprecedented scale, leaving destruction and misery in its wake.
The world was soon rebuilt and a new age of prosperity and technological progress began. Science focused on creating a viable fusion power source and new technologies which would exploit this new power. A group of corporations was granted almost total freedom in order to pursue these goals. This may have seemed dangerous a hundred years ago, but in 2112 it was considered appropriate and was supposed to foster creativity and growth on an unprecedented scale. It didn't.
Complete the single-player campaign or hold out as long as you can in the ultra-challenging Survival mode. Obliterate aliens with a massive arsenal of upgradable weapons. Customise your character and enjoy the ultimate alien-slaughtering experience!

Sometimes you don't want to dive into a 100 hour rpg and would rather destroy thousands of aliens with fun guns and light customization elements. This is a great "in between" game/ palate cleanser.
Simple and straightforward alien blasting fun. A variety of weapons and armor. Lots of little secret rooms to discover, I barely found half on my first playthrough. Has a nice soundtrack.
I played on normal and the game was fairly easy, especially towards the end when you had some wonderful weapons, you pretty much wave them in the direction of the aliens and squish.
Somewhat short, my first game lasted about 5 hours start to finish.
The character controls are good, the car controls were a bit of a pain, for most of the car parts I was unable to turn while driving in reverse. There were a few parts where the car would suddenly decide turning while in reverse was ok, annoying but not a big deal.
Overall a very entertaining game if you just want to blast some stuff with various weapons.
No spoiler in this review.
I bought this game blindly right after I finished the first one. I wanted MORE. They're so good! The guys at Sigma-Team knows their craft.
This game does one thing, and it does it amazingly well: hot mindless action in a very cliché futuristic setting. That's it. Search no further. If that's what you're looking for then buy this game, otherwise look elsewhere.
It reminds me the good old days of Diablo 2: explore dark corridors, kill thousands of foes, and find better equipment. Though this game is much smaller in scope and ambition. The setting is very close to the great movie Starship Troopers, and to the game Starcraft. And it's hard to stop playing, it's very easy to fall into the "Just one more room" trap.
I have the prequel, and compared to the first game: huge difference in terms of visual quality. The graphics look better, but also less clear and less old-school. Both games are about the same length (the first one is shorter, but it has 2 extensions). The gameplay is also less "arcadish" and more realistic in the second game.
Conclusion: 5 stars! This game is pure fun, with a single clear goal: action!
Given the ridiculous price and the amount of fun I had, I only wish GOG had the sequel: Conscription.
Alien Shooter 2 is a fun, but almost criminally short timewaster. It has a variety of weapons to use, and a variety of statistics to upgrade. Driving sections let you squish aliens under tires. It's bloody, it's simple, and it doesn't disappoint.
