I want to love this game, but...
... I don't have motivation to play next scenario. 1. Look great and music is great too. 2. Try to be "big strategy". 3. Repetitive. 4. Long and boring tactical battles. 5. Units lived for picoseconds. 5. Too easy or too hard. From time to time I start playing one map, but no interested for second.

Game is cool, but too buggy
I can still not understand reviews criticizing the game play, I thought they evolved the game play in a nice way. The factions and secret technologies are cool and well balanced. But online multiplayer is so broken that this finally clouded everything. I did accept that no single evening of online multiplayer would go by without having to drop out and back in because weird things would start to happen (fight could not be synchronized and had to be repeatet, executing auto exploration would be stuck forever, ...). Sometimes multiple times. But recently I can't even start or join a game, because I join the MP game creation menu and my player can't be assigned anymore, no matter if I host or join. When I try to select my player in the drop down only weird stuff would happen like the team changing, or the AI level, but my player would not be selectable and thus the game not startable. The whole broken online MP experience is just so unprofessional that I can't recommend the game. Seriously, don't release the next extension, fix the core features! What good is a new race or secret technology if it's impossible to play together? (Especially now where you can't do hot seat because of lock down) This would be a great game, it's such a shame that online MP is so broken...

Age of DLC IV
More cardboard cutout map-painting from a developer and publisher who wants yet more of your money and isn't afraid to use its loathesome DLC to ensure you cough up, no matter the poor quality. Age of Wonders franchise you were a romp backi in the day. Farewell!
