Best 4X game with the best DLC
One of the biggest hypes for this DLC is the return of the Shadow Realms... or in this case the Umbral Abyss (a callback to Shadow Magic), which adds the game's 3rd map layer! We're also getting cosmic event happenings (a nice return from AOW3), more tomes, units, music... the whole spiel. With all the DLC, AOW4 to me is the best 4X game ever made. The game is gorgeous to look at (colour pallet and world shading are top tier), incredibly fun to play, tons of visual and build customisation, item forging, cities with a siege mechanic to capture, the best diplomacy in the series thus far, empire build variations, buildings with meaningful gameplay, world map generation (latest patch adds the Unknown Traits option( is better than ever before... AOW4 offers so much high quality content and some of it isn't in any other 4X series to date. Triumph Studios are carrying Paradox and each new game and DLC is better than the ones before. You simply HAVE to play Eldritch Realms if you're a fan of AOW, 4X and TBS fantasy games in general because you aren't getting this experience anywhere else.
