A Solid Game, with a Key Flaw
Having so thouroughly enjoyed the good Dr Pinkcake's tour de force that is "Leap of Faith", and given the weeping reviews praising this earlier entry, I was excited to give "Acting Lessons" a try. And while the story is compelling, the characters each unique and with their own appeal, you can definitely feel the four year gap in between the two. My biggest gripe with the game (so far, as I have yet to finish it), is it does seem rather to shoehorn your MC into a relationship with Megan. Despite every effort to remain strictly friendly and deny a relationship with her, one does at least begin. But even prior to that, one option stood out shortly before that event. A "Remain Faithful to Megan" dialouge choice. When, at least according to my choices for my MC, they were *not* in a relationship with Megan, and were in fact actively pursuing another character. For someone looking for a few hot scenes, however? It does get to those with great haste. We'll see how the game pans out by the end, and again, full credit to Dr Pinkcake for their dedication to making each character feel unique. In short? I would give this game a softball recomendation to anyone who is a fan of the good Dr's work. If you're new, however? I'd say try if you like, and know that Leap of Faith is around the corner and a *viciously* good game and story rolled into one.
