More than worth the buy
I don't own the gog version, but I bought the Steam version a while back. Very nice game, I enjoyed it.

Best 3D platformer I've played.
The characters are all interesting in their own unique ways. The vast majority of the levels in the base game are well designed. And the heart poured into the game is obvious every step of the way through it. The game looks great for an Unreal 3 title, but Gears For Breakfast pulled that off by adding a bunch of shaders to it. This game may look easy to run, but you'll need to avoid using integrated graphics and stick to a dedicated GPU. There's a review further down the list claiming that the developers of this game are creepy. The "evidence" this review is based upon is false, I've explored every little space in the base game, and I'm positive there are zero flags from the real world in this game. The reviewer claimed that Gog took down reviews that mentioned it, but this review is still up over a year later, showing how much "censorship" Gog actually exercises.

A blast from the past.
A game made for people that enjoyed Gamecube 3d platformers. Hat in time is a kickstarter project that I missed out on, ironically it is one of the few kickstarters that turned out good. The game is a 3d platformer that is more about the freedom of movement to get to a goal than the collectathon like Yooka-Laylee. Because of this A Hat in Time is much more fun. The graphics may be kind of rough but are serviceable. The music is really good. The story is simple. The best thing about this game is how easy it is to mod. The mods greatly increase the quality of this game. This is a game that Super Mario Sunshine fans should play.

A blast from the past.
Pros: This game fleshes out everything. The controls, the camera, the map design, the diverse aesthetics of the worlds, the superb music.....every nook and cranny has been given a great amount of thought, care, and detail. It has fluid control, excellent exploration, genuinely engaging challenges, and a wonderful cast of characters. It captures the spirit of the N64/Gamecube in a modern update that is sure to be timeless, and it's worth every penny of it's purchase price. Cons: It still has some optimization issues. On my i5 and AMD RX 460, it was using 100% of my CPU and went down to 1 FPS while loading a level. I managed to fix this, but still, that shouldn't happen. The framerate can fluctuate on occasional, and there are a few bugs forced me to restart the level. However, I have been informed that updates and patches are on the way, so this only applies to the launch time in which I have written this. Overall: Get this game ASAP, especially when the patches and mod support comes in. It's cute, adorable, fun, challenging, and can take hours from you.

I'll keep it short: A Hat in Time is great and adorable 3D platformer-collectathon that you will absolutely love, even if you never were fan of that genre. With loveable characters, simple (in a good way) plot that doesnt get in your way, beautiful and stylish visuals, responsive controls and some not very original, but interesting ideas, this game is certainly is worth getting and playing. The only downside is that its relatively short (took me a little less than 12 hours to 100% it), but with mod support coming soon this issue will be nullified with time.
