I really want to love you

It's hard to pick out my reaction to this game from the context of other games like it. Having played and loved at least two similar games/interactive stories (To the Moon and Gone Home), I thought I knew what I was getting with A Bird Story. I didn't except riveting or challenging game play. In fact, I didn't really expect any real game play, as that's not really the point of this type of experience. However, I did expect something as emotionally engaging, artful and complete as the game that came before it. Instead this story felt weak in comparison. It wasn't BAD, but it wasn't much more than a digital after school special or an animated short before the main attraction. What was there was artfully done, but there really wasn't a whole lot there. This point is especially driven home by the ending. No spoilers, but I left with the feeling that "A Bird Story" was little more than a way to make a few bucks while advertising an upcoming game. Makes me feel a bit cheated and underwhelmed. Perhaps I should have read a bit more before buying. Despite all that, I’m still looking forward to “Finding Paradise”. Even it it doesn’t feel like a full standalone product, A Bird Story at least proves the developer sense of style is still intact.

Disappointing

I played To the Moon and fell in love with that game. I still think about the story from time to time. Therefore I needed to play Finding Paradise, but since A Bird Story was supposed to connect the games together, I felt that I really had to play it before trying the third game. I kind of regret it. I understand that this piece of art were supposed to be a piece of art, but it was not a game. I did NOT enjoy any single moment of this game, except flying around with the paper plane which was kind of rewarding, and also the most interactive part in the whole game. I totally understood nothing and I just wanted it to end so that I could continue playing Finding Paradise. Lucky me this game only took one hour to finish. I understand where the creator of the game was going, but it was a failure. Hope the third one is better!

Touching interactive story

It's a two hours game where you follow a child trying to escape is loneliness by rescuing a bird. This is a sequel of "To the Moon". The word game is discutable beause the interaction with the player is more than minimalistic. You walk and take objects. That is all. You can have more than two minutes without touching your keyboard and watching the game telling you his story. In the end it's more an interactive movie than an interactive game. Personnally i think it's a shame because you have this wonderful medium, the video game, that allows you to involve the player with interactions and .... you don't use this primordial mechanic. Netherless the story is really beautiful and i enjoyed it. If you played the game "To the moon" you will like this one. If you didn't but don't mind the nearly non-existent gameplay and if you like story driven game, you should try it.

Too boring for me

Not realy the game, you can only walk from point to point, nothing else. Story - not realy, only plot is about child who rescue bird and he looked after him. I loved to the moon, story there was great, there was gameplay, but a bird story is booring for me - even it is less than 2h.

Play the two other games firstly

If you haven't played Finding Paradise before, even if you played To the Moon before, I strongly recommend to firstly play the game. As always, great music, emotive storytelling, even some clever humor in there, this time the game is only an hour long, it's just a very simple and lineal game, practically no gameplay, I think some people will find it cute but not so interesting but everything starts to make more sense once you finished playing Finding Paradise, since it works as the prequel to that game, I think you can play this game before Finding Paradise, but I think it's better to play this game to explore a little more the events from its sequel.
