Allow users to add alternate searchable tags to games when they write a review. Use of these tags during searches by other users could be made optional via a switch in the 'Narrow results' bar. For example: It is currently impossible to isolate flight simulators from all the other sims. but this would allow fans to tag games with terms such as 'flight' or even 'helicopter' which would make it easy to narrow the search results. A quick search for 'helicopter' within the 'sim' category would then just turn up the small list of dedicated helicopter flight simulators. To avoid abuse the choice of tagable words could be limited to just a small number (one or two hundred) or a potentially unlimited dictionary of accepted tag words could be maintained with new entries simply requiring a one-time moderator approval for entry onto the list.
