Remove facebook login option
Remove Facebook completely. (From GOG.)
Facebook still a thing? lmao
even if you don't choose to log in with facebook, merely having the option available on the site means facebook's cookies can track you. do your part to stop zuckerberg's cancer.
Facebook is evil!
Friendly post so people notice this wish in the recently active wishlist items!
almost installed galaxy for cyberpunk, now im downloading 27 setup files instead lmao stay away from me with that bs
Facebook is the enemy of privacy, freedom, and decency. GOG undermines their image and credibility by associating with them. I also notice extremely high CPU usage when the login prompt loads. What is it doing? I have no way of knowing, but it is very concerning.
polite bump for visibility in the recent list
No I don't want facebook software touching my browser! yuck!

I agree with this. While I understand some people might want it, I do not.
Maybe an option to hide the connector if not in use would be a solution?

@BlueeAcid
It would be nice if I could change a setting that makes that facebook stuff disappear, but what bothers me most is how invasive facebook/google/twitter stuff is to my privacy. I don't want anything related to them integrated anywhere, not touching my account or any website I visit with a 10,000 foot pole. No thanks.

quick polite post
But it's completely optional. Gamers should have the choice to login with their facebook credentials.
@avilonrayne No offense or anything, but anyone that wants to go to facebook can simply type "facebook.com" one time and then bookmark it, allowing them to visit it any time they want. I just don't understand why facebook has to be forced into Gog.com, because facebook has absolutely nothing to do with gog.com or videogames. Just my opinion. Peace.
a quick and polite post (for visibility in the recent list) so people who sort by most recently are more likely to spot this wishlist item. Just a hopeful attempt at getting more people to notice this wish!
Facebook log-in is optional. There's no need to remove something when every user has the choice of whether to use the option or not. It wouldn't be a thing if nobody used it, so there must be some people that like the option. You do not get to deny the desires of others just because you don't want something yourself.
I agree with this, for I can't access facebook in China.
The constant redirects to facebook is incredibly annoying and intrusive. For a service that proudly promotes DRM-free content, GOG should be ashamed for implementing this facebook crap.
I've never had the popup problem until today. Please remove it. I'd like to browse the games in the current sale using Galaxy, but my browser keeps opening to an account I no longer have on Facebook.

Facebook is a criminal organization and deserves to be treated as one.
Mark Zuckerberg has already taken the privacy away from many Facebook users. He claims that privacy matters... yeah, barely.
I agree with this. Social media spying (Facebook's in particular) shouldn't belong here on GOG.

Please let this be noticed
It seems that when someone posts a comment in a wish page like this, the wish gets sent to the top of the list where it is more visible. I noticed this because I saw others making posts so that their wish was more visible for a short while. I say a short while because even after the wish is at the top of the list, it is quickly sent back down into the dark depths of oblivion by other people giving a +1 or posting another comment in several other wishes, so this visibility benefit is extremely short lived. The only hope a wish has of surviving is if at just the right time, a large group of people who just happen to be those who are interested in the wish just happen to be browsing the community wishlist at the same time that the wish is floating somewhere near the top of the list (and has any remote chance of being visible at all, if ever) or the wish will plunge back into the abyss very quickly. This is really sad because some wishes are simply never noticed and are constantly forever pushed down to the bottom by a constant addition of more and more new wishes. I don't really know what else to do other than post a comment in my wished every once in a while and just hope they are picked up by the community or I fear my wishes may never come true.
Facebook treats its users like criminals, Guilty before proven innocent. It's just a huge datamining scheme. All they do is keep all your data and get involved in politics and then abuse others based on their God given right of freedom of speech. It's very scary and I know gog is way better than that. gog is such a good thing and facebook is such a bad thing. Please disassociate ASAP!
I would really like the option to go into the settings and disable social media from even loading in the code of gog.com for my account. I think facebook is a very bad thing and I will never trust it, but that's just my opinion. I don't know why it has to be forcibly inserted into every single website I go to. google captcha here, facebook here, google here, connect connect connect! NO! stop! MAKE IT STOP!
Do you know what "option" word mean? Please stop be a communist and dictate what is best for everybody around you. How old are you? 13? I do not care what you think because i do want to have an option. If you don't want to use fb login - just don't but dont't tell me what I have to do. Maybe start your own company or rather church, because as company you wouldn't last long by disabling options for customers.
I can even see the angle of FB users about convenience... but really, all social media that we currently have relies heavily in data-mining and using "you" as a product. They will happily profile you, sell you to everyone and their grandma and don't even worry about being careful your data stays secure. If it leaks, the one who will be screwed will be you, not them... The current model of social media is a cancer that should be erased from the internet.
I'm not opposed to those that want something like FB, but honestly they're unaware they're trading privacy and security for convenience. I wish GOG wouldn't incentive that, at least.
(Pretty unlikely that GOG will comply, given they're going social too)
Get rid of it! And on top the timing is absolutely perfect chosen. Another 'g0g'.
You've become talented at this skill over the years... ;)P
I echo the others in requesting that this feature be removed. Facebook is NOT a service I want to see associated with GOG, let alone taking into account the numerous times their scripts have been involved in data breaches, nevermind how Facebook keeps finding itself entangled in unsavory news.
here's an idea, just don't login with facebook!
Get rid of this shit!
techcrunch.com/2018/04/18/login-with-facebook-data-hijacked-by-javascript-trackers/
Just reading the excerpt on slashdot.org [1] it should be clear that what Facebook does is blatant misconduct concerning the privacy of *everybody*, not only *their* users. So every-time something is "taken" from their site, like a login API script integrated into a 3rd party site is, like here at GOG is provided, is a breach in security and privacy, with the upcoming EU privacy policies, which - as it looks - Value (of Steam fame) pre-emptively implemented, this might become an issue of rather far and expansive reaches. Therefore, again, I would urge GOG to remove the Facebook login.
