Option to permanently remove games from our library

Heh, already have P2 and the others don't interest me so gonna give them a miss, but good on ya for doing this. (and to anyone else "remove these": dude, just ignore them, jhfc).
The FTBG page did get updated to allow individual games to be claimed separately from the whole bundle, so the GOG team seems to be aware of the issues people have been experiencing.
I too just wanted Postal 2 only to receive additional unwanted games. I did contact GOG Support to request the removal of the unwanted games, and I suggest others experiencing the same issue do the same. Removal of games from an account doesn't appear to be a standard practice - otherwise, there'd be an option for users to do so without having to contact GOG - but hopefully they'll be understanding of the problem and, if they usually don't remove games, make an exception.
I have the same problem with FREEDOMTOBUYGAMES. I love the basic idea of this campaign in theory, but when you accidently redeem this code in a (family) shared account you are (literally) fucked :-D. Normally you have the option to give back titles in 30 day but this also does not seem to apply here.
In a similar situation to those below, wasn't aware of the content of some of the games in the recent anti-censorship giveaway and would like them not to be on my account, hiding them isn't enough, I want them gone.
I like postal but I dont want these porn games
let me get the porn games off my account
I only wanted House party (got postal 2 on steam)... I don't want the others porn games please ahahha look at this post.
I didn't realize what did I get until later! I need to delete this deal's games from my library
Yeah, I'm gonna agree with everyone else here. I thought I was gonna be allowed to choose which games I downloaded. Instead, GOG downloaded every item on the list for the event. I'm all for spitting in the eye of censorship, but please allow us to choose which games to download. I'd like to be able to delete all the "extra" that was downloaded, so an option like this would be nice.
Poatal 2 cheers, happy to accept to support the cause, but for the love of Cheezus let me delete this other crap!
Same issue. I've curated my GOG library to keep it free of shlock, and the lack of warning that the games from the recent event couldn't be claimed separately ruined that. As a woman I don't want to see a bunch of male-gaze objectification of women in my library. And maybe I pass my account to a younger sibling and don't want 18+ porn games on there? Steam allows games to be deleted from library, please allow it here, too.
i download postal 2 and my computer gets blasted with boob. literally fucking 1984
i wish this community wishlist actually worked.
Same here. I just wanted Postal 2, not all the rest of this schlock. I've sent an email to GOG support; let's see what happens.
Yeah I just clicked on a giveaway for Postal 2 and it gave me a bunch of stuff I don't want on my account. "Hide" is not what I am interested in, I don't want that stuff there at all.
PLEASE I ONLY WANTED POSTAL NOT THESE CRAPPY 18+ GAMES
I DIDN'T WANT THESE PORN GAMES IN ADDITION TO POSTAL 2, GODDAMNIT
It would be nice to have a "remove from library" option, I just wanted to claim Postal 2 from the "freedom to buy" thing and it added all the other stuff I don't care about-
I hate censorship and the attack on games, I'm pissed off about what's happening with some stupid group complaining, the credit cards companies, other platforms delisting games... it's insane, nobody should have that power or the right to tell others "YOU CAN'T BUY THIS LEGAL THING BECAUSE WE DON'T LIKE IT!", they are holding both developers and consumers hostages,
BUT, that being said,
just like I support freedom to buy, please give us freedom to delete.
Agree.
coming back to PC gaming and intending to use GOG after seeing that it supports freedom of artistic expression, only to realise I can't even have basic control of library management!!!
I'm deleting my account, and never again will I spend a dime on this store, modest though that may seem to a large corporation, if by the end of this month the feature isn't added.
something about not being able to delete an item from "my" library irks me to no fkn end!!
I'm an adult damn it!
Please add this function. I have recieve some games from other country i'm currently with war with. I really need to delete them, but i can't...
I wonder why they don't implement game removal the way Steam already does? If we always have to create a ticket, and this must be manually reviewed, and the game removed, that's totally inefficient for GOG.
Such a feature would save them a lot of time for serious support cases.
I have some games that are bugged and some i bought when "drunkK".. Kan i can please please leva?
I am new to GOG and decided to download Demos and some free games but now that I dont want them on y library the only thing that I can do is to hide them but I play on Linux using Lutris and it doesnt hide under Lutris app, we very much need such feature that is basic to a game launcher and store
It's is needed. If GOG had this feature, I'd be 100% here.
Whenever I see an interesting looking demo on here, I check to see if it's on Steam as well. I download it there, then remove it after I'm done playing. I don't want to clutter my account here with demos. I would love to be able to remove games permanently as well.
i have about 100 games on GOG i will never play, let me trash them forever please
I constantly ask for them to remove requested games from my library, I like keeping my game collections tidy, Steam with steam only games, EA the same, now I want my games I wish to have only on GoG the same!
How is this feature not being included, people use their game library's as lists, if GoG claims we own our games and they are drn free, how can removing them from an account he an issue?!
Hell I would go through a bunch of hoops if need be.
Allow us freedom of ownership of our accounts.
On Dec 01, ive contacted the gog Customer Service, asking them to remove from my account few games (obtained through Amazon Prime). They replyed me the 9, telling me to use the "HIDE" option in order to remove a game from the view of my Library. I thanked Them for the reply, then I said that I was hoping to receive a different help than what was provided to me. I was aware of the possibility of being able to "hide" some games in my library, as well as I remember when GOG offered the possibility of permanently removing games from the account by contacting the Customer Service (an opportunity later removed). I was hoping that, given the wait, They were somehow working to grant an exception, at least to consider the possibility of, but it seems that this was not the case. As i told Them, I do not think I will continue to support this platform, since in comparison to others It provides fewer options for the customer and the times for assistance are significantly longer. I was looking for having a single working storefront-app-library and i was slowly taking some of the games I have on other platforms on gog. I guess this is not going to happen, at least for now. Perhaps in the future, when and if the platform and its services will have updates.
/s So yeah, the lovely people at GOG won’t help you anymore like in the Good Old Days. /s
+1
In extremely rare case when hackers will hack someone's account - GOG staff will retrieve all games, as order history is undeletable. Unfortunately "hide" function is far from being enough.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's bothered by this!!
I agree with OP & other users on this. There should be a way to not get demos, trials & giveaways be permanently tied to your account. I get why because these sites wanna make sure there are legit users and not bots for security reasons, etc but then you get people complaining that their library is filled with stuff they'd rather not see ever again & rather have a very clean library without this stuff always being tied to your collection. It doesn't hurt to add an option if people are wanting it.
I don't think this is a good idea. If someone hacks your account, for instance, he could delete games! Hide content seems to be more than enough.
Seriously, this is beyond sad that this even has to be a request.
Honestly, you shouldn't even be able to add Alphas, Demos, Prologues, and trials to your account at ALL. It should just be a free download whenever you want.
I have a few of them I added over the years without thinking about it that I regret and they are still there BECAUSE WE CAN'T FRIGGIN REMOVE THEM.
Got them marked as hidden but that shouldn't be needed just to have them not show up in your page, let alone if you have a batch downloader that doesn't register if the game is hidden or not.
I got this stupid Antifa game I got for free (Tonight We Riot) and didn't know what it was when I clicked add to my library. Horrible game and horrible people. Would love to get rid of it permanently. Also have 2 versions of Fallout and Fallout 2 and would like to get rid of one of them too. I have demo's that I purchased where I have bought the full game, so would like to get rid of those too.
A 30 day deletion timer for this potential feature could help solve issues of users changing their minds as well as serve as a measure against hackers trying to exploit this feature.
+1, sometimes hiding the game is not enough, you just want to deeply cleanup library - let us remove it permanently from the account if one wish to.
Please bring this feature
Nearly 6 years after... GOG did a Legend of Keepers giveaway not long ago, why would i want the Prologue in my library ? I hope GOG gives the option one day, once its done, it will be Epic's turn to be hassled with this. Anyway happy 2024 to everyone :)
This shoul be implemented at least for demos.
Please add this as a feature.
Give us the option ASAP!
Without a doubt, this is my most wanted feature from GOG.
Hopefully they'll figure a way to do it.
Both Steam and Epic have this working like a charm, the first one even without contacting support, so don't understand why GOG refuse to make it happen.
Yeah I understand I'd love this feature to remove everything, and get some money back at least 50% of the money!
absolutely bonkers that this isn't a feature...
This is precisely why I have decided not to buy anything else from gog.
Just finished going through two decades of games I definitely didn't want on my Steam account, I deleted A LOT, now when I look at my much smaller list I feel very relieved. I dislike going on to my download page on GOG knowing there are plenty of games I'd like to remove, bringing it down to size and making it easier to access the games I like.
For linux person down below (cant edit comment my previous comment), use Lutris and follow the instructions. Use the techpowerup AIO visualbasic to get all versions without conflicts, it runs all games through the launcher with a little tweaking on a couple. As a linux user the tweaking is minor (edit a conf to use direct 9 or 11 before launching for example, Witcher 2 or 3). Anyway good luck!
yeah pls it causes clutter and just sucks in general not to be able to remove stuff for whatever reason. Just say if people choose to remove and not hide (multiple accepts), you wont put it back and you dont have to deal with any other requests about it (unless you want to)
