Option to permanently remove games from our library
Agreed. Bought a game that was not what i expected it to be and just want it gone from my account.
Let's hope that GOG reads this thread.
Could be nice, I got too many demos because of a particular way that I was looking through available games and it's a bit annoying now. But not as big an issue as some here make it out to be, I find that confusing.
To GOG:
While deleting games is not allowed, here are a few ideas that might work for users who want greater control over their digital library:
1) "Vault of Shame" (or "Vault of Fortune"): A password-protected digital storage space. Games sent there are hidden from view and can only be accessed after a waiting period (for example, 48 hours). This measure not only keeps the library organized but also provides an extra layer of security and privacy, preventing anyone who accesses a user's account from seeing games they prefer to keep hidden.
2) Filtering by Purchase Type: The option to hide all games obtained for free or through promotions. This would allow users to focus on the titles they actively purchased, removing clutter from their main view without having to permanently delete the games.
This should be a basic feature to remove the game from your account!
The inability to remove a game from the library is one of the reasons why I stopped using GOG. If I can’t manage my games on my own, including deleting them, then I’d rather stick with Steam.
They remove my porn stuff of this cursed bundle, you can ask them they will make an exception! I think you can do it before september!
Adding my voice to the list of people who redeemed the free game pack not knowing it would fill my account with H games I don't freaking want. PLEASE give us a way to permanently remove games we don't want.
Redeemed the games from the last pack and its all some Xrated stuff, dont want that. Would be nice to be able to remove that.
I too added games from the freedom bundle thinking I would be able to choose which ones I wanted. Please add this.
You can hide them. It’s not the same, but at least they won’t be in your face.
To GOG (in case others take it personal lol):
The irony of being stuck with games you don't want is the close similarity of being stuck with DRM. You are *technically* enforcing DRM by not allowing people rights to remove games.
Like others I wanted one or two games from the freedom bundle and also got plenty titles I didn't choose and didn't want. Totally fine with those games being sold and absolutely no issues with players who play them and I support your campaign, It is a good cause in the first place. But you need to reason better about it.
There is plenty motivation for removing games from personal libraries, reasons spanning identity or legal aspects that may differ considerably world wide or even within small communities. There are evolutionary aspects as well - people change so they change their mind.
I understand my message leans strong on the negative side and it is intentional and final. You have the means to correct course. You appear hesitant at best - this is not well received.
I hadn't fully realised the games from the freedom bundle would all be automatically added. I had hoped for some checkout process that'd at least confirm what games were being added. Now I have a bunch of NSFW games alongside one horror game I was initially interested in, and the account is basically 'tainted' (sort of) because I can't freely use it around other people around me (although I fully support gamers who want these content, personally I've zero interest in them).
Why can't we remove stuff though?
I just contacted the support team, and they told me there is not a functionality to permanently remove games from users' accounts.. That seems hard to believe... and if it's true, seems like such a basic QoL option to remove bloatware. Please add this feature.
I believe GOG is totally incapable of providing an option to permanently remove games from our GOG library. I have requested this for YEARS and it will simply never happen. They do not actually know how to make this happen. They are incapable of the technology it would take to make this happen.
Please add a method to remove those filthy games that came with that code. Please.
Fix this or I am never buying from you again straight up. I redeemed a free game pack and got a bunch cringe hentai games. Hiding isn't good enough. And on top of that, hiding doesn't even work properly in your eternally jank launcher. This is not acceptable.
if this isnt fixed in a week im going to have to delete my account
my uncle just saw my game library wtf! this ticket has been open for 8 years?!
i accepted all the banned games for free. now they are in my library. my kids use my computer. i need to delete these. I use heroc game launcher, so hiding them on gog still has them show up in heroic
And just to add something, because, yes, I know the law (at least in my country/EU), we shouldn't even ASK for this because it's our right to request the removal of the games we bought (buying something for zero euros is still a sales contract). If we actually own the account and the games within it, then we're entitled to the removal, no questions asked. Even in the case of licenses (like on Steam), we're still entitled to the removal of the games. Someone raised this issue on Steam a few years ago (not me), and since then they've enabled the removal of games on Steam directly from the account, without even having to open a ticket.
From what I've read, others have made requests for game removal and been denied, and I want to make it absolutely clear that what they're doing is NOT LEGAL in the EU. I have no intention of abandoning this issue; the more they ignore me, the louder I'll be.
When i redeemed the code for the freedom bundle I didn' even had the option to see what games I was adding, just the code and the redeem button. Not even in the second passage. I tought "wow good idea" just to be scammed (because when it's made this way is a scam where i come from) with porn games. They are ignoring my support tickets (sent the first four days ago), i have a 200 games library and this is the way they treat their customers? EA and Steam have better customer service, and this is something to say, I don't think I will ever buy something here again.
Toca Boca free download all unlocked iOS lets you get the full game with all characters, locations, and items unlocked for free on iPhone/iPad. Enjoy unlimited gameplay without paying for in-app purchases. Note: This is an unofficial version - for safe updates, get the official app from the App Store. tocalifesworld.com/toca-life-world-for-ios/
Heh, already have P2 and the others don't interest me so gonna give them a miss, but good on ya for doing this. (and to anyone else "remove these": dude, just ignore them, jhfc).
The FTBG page did get updated to allow individual games to be claimed separately from the whole bundle, so the GOG team seems to be aware of the issues people have been experiencing.
I too just wanted Postal 2 only to receive additional unwanted games. I did contact GOG Support to request the removal of the unwanted games, and I suggest others experiencing the same issue do the same. Removal of games from an account doesn't appear to be a standard practice - otherwise, there'd be an option for users to do so without having to contact GOG - but hopefully they'll be understanding of the problem and, if they usually don't remove games, make an exception.
I have the same problem with FREEDOMTOBUYGAMES. I love the basic idea of this campaign in theory, but when you accidently redeem this code in a (family) shared account you are (literally) fucked :-D. Normally you have the option to give back titles in 30 day but this also does not seem to apply here.
In a similar situation to those below, wasn't aware of the content of some of the games in the recent anti-censorship giveaway and would like them not to be on my account, hiding them isn't enough, I want them gone.
I like postal but I dont want these porn games
let me get the porn games off my account
I only wanted House party (got postal 2 on steam)... I don't want the others porn games please ahahha look at this post.
I didn't realize what did I get until later! I need to delete this deal's games from my library
Yeah, I'm gonna agree with everyone else here. I thought I was gonna be allowed to choose which games I downloaded. Instead, GOG downloaded every item on the list for the event. I'm all for spitting in the eye of censorship, but please allow us to choose which games to download. I'd like to be able to delete all the "extra" that was downloaded, so an option like this would be nice.
Poatal 2 cheers, happy to accept to support the cause, but for the love of Cheezus let me delete this other crap!
Same issue. I've curated my GOG library to keep it free of shlock, and the lack of warning that the games from the recent event couldn't be claimed separately ruined that. As a woman I don't want to see a bunch of male-gaze objectification of women in my library. And maybe I pass my account to a younger sibling and don't want 18+ porn games on there? Steam allows games to be deleted from library, please allow it here, too.
i download postal 2 and my computer gets blasted with boob. literally fucking 1984
i wish this community wishlist actually worked.
Same here. I just wanted Postal 2, not all the rest of this schlock. I've sent an email to GOG support; let's see what happens.
Yeah I just clicked on a giveaway for Postal 2 and it gave me a bunch of stuff I don't want on my account. "Hide" is not what I am interested in, I don't want that stuff there at all.
PLEASE I ONLY WANTED POSTAL NOT THESE CRAPPY 18+ GAMES
I DIDN'T WANT THESE PORN GAMES IN ADDITION TO POSTAL 2, GODDAMNIT
It would be nice to have a "remove from library" option, I just wanted to claim Postal 2 from the "freedom to buy" thing and it added all the other stuff I don't care about-
I hate censorship and the attack on games, I'm pissed off about what's happening with some stupid group complaining, the credit cards companies, other platforms delisting games... it's insane, nobody should have that power or the right to tell others "YOU CAN'T BUY THIS LEGAL THING BECAUSE WE DON'T LIKE IT!", they are holding both developers and consumers hostages,
BUT, that being said,
just like I support freedom to buy, please give us freedom to delete.
Agree.
coming back to PC gaming and intending to use GOG after seeing that it supports freedom of artistic expression, only to realise I can't even have basic control of library management!!!
I'm deleting my account, and never again will I spend a dime on this store, modest though that may seem to a large corporation, if by the end of this month the feature isn't added.
something about not being able to delete an item from "my" library irks me to no fkn end!!
I'm an adult damn it!
Please add this function. I have recieve some games from other country i'm currently with war with. I really need to delete them, but i can't...
I wonder why they don't implement game removal the way Steam already does? If we always have to create a ticket, and this must be manually reviewed, and the game removed, that's totally inefficient for GOG.
Such a feature would save them a lot of time for serious support cases.
I have some games that are bugged and some i bought when "drunkK".. Kan i can please please leva?
I am new to GOG and decided to download Demos and some free games but now that I dont want them on y library the only thing that I can do is to hide them but I play on Linux using Lutris and it doesnt hide under Lutris app, we very much need such feature that is basic to a game launcher and store
It's is needed. If GOG had this feature, I'd be 100% here.
Whenever I see an interesting looking demo on here, I check to see if it's on Steam as well. I download it there, then remove it after I'm done playing. I don't want to clutter my account here with demos. I would love to be able to remove games permanently as well.
i have about 100 games on GOG i will never play, let me trash them forever please
