Offer a zip file of the installed files.
I would really like to be able to press one button and download all the offline backup files and the installer (no gog galaxy, no thanks!) in one click and have it download as one zip file. Less clicking, less possibility of making mistakes and missing one of the clicks. Yes please.
I wish I could vote for this 1000 times; if I want to install one of my GOG games on my Linux computer I need to bounce it off a Windows computer first to install the game--even if I never plan on playing it there--just to get the files that I can then put on the Linux computer.

While it would be convenient, I get the feeling the reason it's an exe is because they want to offer people the chance to read the licensing agreement first.
Yes, this would be perfect. It's counterintuitive that DosBox runs just fine on Mac and Linux, but one has to find a way to extract the files from the Windows-only installer first. This would be such a simple solution!
I now think it might be better for GOG to just release the API how to extract the files from the .EXE files. Then there would be no need for GOG to make any extra distfiles and people could make their own open source extracting tool that would work on any OS just like the .ZIP would.
Yes, having a zip file for games would be good because sometimes Wine is not an option.
Games that use DosBox easily work in Linux, and don't require Wine. The installer on the other hand, luckily I haven't had issue with it working.
