Notify users by email when games in their wishlists go on sale completed
Yeah, I'd like this too so I can track when the games I want to buy are on sale.
If email notification was implemented, when a game on my wishlist went on sale, I would buy it from GOG. Just the other day, a game in my wishlist went on sale on GOG and on Steam. Steam sent me an email. GOG did not. I would have chosen GOG, but I went with Steam. Please implement this feature so it can be a win/win.
Seems to be working. Had to turn it on in my privacy settings.
This is not working
This feature is broken
Tiis feature doesn't work. I had games ont my wishlist during the 2 recent sales and didn't receive any mails.
That's sad considering that would the first time i would be happy with a promotion email :x
Same problem like you, niksa janjic. GOG can not help me, very sad and disappointing.
Have anybody an idea to solve the problem?
Does anyone else have this feature broken? I bought 7 games so far from my wishlist on a discount and never ever got a single email about it. I only get emails about announcements and promotions but I don't get any about my wishlist games although I have "Wishlist Alerts" turned on.
nicely done btw...makes me check my E-mail more often..
Well done GOG!

WOW, this thread is from 2012 and it's still not active.
How to support gog.com when it's not helping users to buy more games???
I would really like this feature. Steam already has it. With the '2015 DRM Free Summer Sale' in progress, there are bound to be many games from my wishlist on sale. I would like to grab them while they are hot. Please add this feature.
I can't believe GoG doesn't do this. It's useful on Steam but not as essential since i'm always on Steam anyway, but GoG where I don't usually visit it would be invaluable. I'm just lucky I checked today and found one of my wishlist games on sale (I actually missed some earlier this year which made me sad). In fact I found this page specifically because I was googling to see if GoG had a system to send emails when a game goes on sale on your wishlist.
I just discovered the game In my wishlist has already been on sale and that gog prefers not to notify people about that. Not sure what the point of even having a wishlist is then...

I don't understand why hasn't this been implemented yet? They're losing sales and I don't think it would be hard to implement something like this.
Yes they would lose some bandwidth in sending out tons of emails every day, but it will only boost their sales.
This option would be more efficient in selling more games to me than sending me offers on email. Believe it or not, yes it would.
Im am no programmer but this sounds as the most easy thing to do
gamersgate has it and perhaps all the sites that offer digital goods online, and if these guys can do it then GOG can do it aswell and even better, cause GOG is better then all the other wannabe online stores.
GOG is good....
Wow! People have been asking for the for 3 YEARS and it's still not implemented? Does GOG not have any programmers???? How embarrassing!!!!!
I second this wholeheartedly. Seems pretty basic feature to me, and I was surprised to see it missing when I went looking for it.
How has this not been implemented yet??? I won't log in into gog everyday to check my wishlist. And the wishlist can't be shared either? So basically, you can save games on there, but there is no functionality to it whatsoever.
Seriously, I would be buying more on here than on Steam, but Steam lets me know when things go on sale and dangles it in front of my face in my inbox. I usually check here if it's a game both Steam and GOG have when I'm going to buy from Steam, but the sales rarely coincide. This is probably the feature I want most of all.
Why it not work? Don't won't more money? Silly company. Everybody waiting for something, and.... why they don't write "Hey, you won't this game? There you can PURCHASE IT!" Why not to make money? Why??? And where are the game ? Waiting soo long ;( Age of Empires 2... Black And White series ;(
YES! GOG is losing money by not alerting (via email preferably) people that their wishlist item/items are on sale.
seems like it's already back!
This should be what the wishlist does anyway. Steam took a long time to implement it but they finally did, hopefully GOG will do too.
I'd love the notice, and I miss the old prices & sales showing on wishlist screen.
I really like the way GOG doesn't go crazy sending emails every five minutes. However, the option to receive email alerts for certain events would be good. I'd sign up for alerts on wishlist sales.
this makes the wishlist really hard to use for me.
Steam do this for me all the time, surely GOG should do it too! Most GOG games are inexpensive full-price, but when they get reduced I am often really willing to buy something that I have never played before ever.
I actually did expect this to be the function of the wishlist and was surprised to not have been informed of a sale. I would have bought the game during sale, but I do not have any intention of bying it for full price. Since I keep missing the sale every time, GOG can not earn money with me.
this would be great! Also it would add functionality to the wishlist and make it more useful. I would prefer this to having to sign up to their newsletter for overall discount notifications when I'm really only interested in certain titles.
If this feature were to be implemented, I would ask one thing.
Have a discount slider, that determines which point a user is emailed in regards to a wishlisted game. And have it be game specific.
i.e. If someone were to set the slider to 75%, they would not be notified of a 50% discount on said game.
This is the case on Steam and this is really cool :D
This is one of my favorite features of Steam that is missing on GOG.
I was really surprised when I learned about the lack of this kind of notification in such an event.
In the mean time, one workaround is to use the waitlist feature on IsThereAnyDeal.com.
(You can specify which stores to watch as well as a maximum price and minimum discount.)
I contributed a userscript to ITAD a few weeks ago which makes importing your GOG wishlist a matter of two clicks.
github.com/ssokolow/itad_importer
(It IS linked from inside the "collection manager" dialog on ITAD, but the wishlist import is younger and the "waitlist manager" dialog hasn't been updated yet.)
I support this. Via email and GOG account (when you are online).
Good suggestion. A necessary feature.
Note regards my comment below: Not enough showed an interest, so I have removed the feature. Gog.com won't let me delete the comment, so we are stuck with it.
Hi everyone,
I'm interested in this feature too. Rather than wait, I've decided to develop it myself. If you are interested, I've setup an early access Beta page here:
shantnu.pythonanywhere.com/
thanks,
At least make it an option that can be activated/disabled. That way we can choose to get those notifications if we want them. Letting them know their wishlist games are on sale may increase profits and those wanting those games are more apt to buy them when their discounted. Personally, I see it as a win-win scenario all around.
My number 1 want.
you guys should definitely do this like steam does would be really useful to us and we wont have to miss out on picking up great bargains
Looks like this is almost the same as another Community Wishlist item. www.gog.com/wishlist/site/add_the_possibility_to_remind_me_when_this_game_goes_on_sale This currently has 4618 votes, that currently has 5994 votes, that's 10612, which brings this item to #7 all time requested site features instead of splitting the votes to position #8 and #15.
$5.00 or less is an impulse buy for something on my wishlist. Let me know when it happens and I will buy.
