Make sure all games can be downloaded and played without installing Gog Galaxy
The fact it still doesn't fully test it is a major disappointment. Instead they rather will waste time on "preservation programme" for publicity and noise in press than doing the right basic thing.
No DRM, and no client, is why I shop at GoG.
Optional Galaxy is fine, but required, or "rewarded" is not.
Paying customers should get the full game (inc extras), however they want to download and organize their collection.
Some official GOG download manager would be nice, like the community projects gogcli (by Magnitus-) or gogrepo.py (by eddie3) – thank you so much ;-). Still, an official downloader from GOG.com, or –even better!– an official library with integration functions to be used by third-party tools (like python scripts or any other downloads).
christiane_savaria Spamming a forum is NO WAY to get business. It's a good way to loose business.
For me no need to use client like Galaxy is one of the most important reasons I buy games from GOG rather than any other site.
Good old download just is way it should be, no spying network traffic that I have not initiated myself, no phoning home by software.
When I want to play a game, I should need to launch only the game and no internet connection, as long as GOG provides this, I'm spending what I can on Gog to buy games.
If a game requires an interface like Galaxy (e.g. Gwent), just make sure that information is at the forefront on the descriptions.
Guess OP means online multiplayer in some games? That's understandable if it needs Galaxy as GoG is hosting the main server for some games. But singleplayer on the other hand should works no matter what.
Please include the patch release dates on the classic download page! I saw that one of my games had an update, but when I went to download it simply listed all files. "Haha guess which one you need to download!" Fortunately I don't throw away installers so I could check which files I don't have locally, but having a release date timestamp on each download would be very helpful.
What ng said. What games force you to use Galaxy?
Any examples?
