Currently there's no way to disable geographical location in profile and locality is publicly visible in every forum message. I had to set a wrong country on purpose.

@chevkoch: The web development team knows about the issue. They also know what causes it - because I figured it out. But they won't fix it, because there aren't enough people complaining about it. So go and complain about it - to them!

In addition, the issue that your chosen country from the drop-down list even gets regularly reset to your actual country needs to be fixed. That choices are not permanent has been reported ages ago. GOG, please - finally - remedy this privacy issue by either making choices stick or removing the country feature altogether.
