GOG Workshop (Steam Workshop) or Nexus Mod integration
It'd be wonderful if GOG could reach an arrangement with Nexusmods (or/and similar communities) to integrate that into Galaxy. Lack of mod system and Linux support are my only issues with Galaxy.
Would be nice esp since the Steam Deck exists now.
Come on add this cool feature with your skill :)
Come on add it
got my vote
This has become all the more relevant because of Steam taking out sites like steamworkshopdownloader.io, so we kinda need an actual alternative for GoG-bought games other than forcing us to rebuy stuff.
Well... This would be a great feature to be added to GOG. Mod communities are very good to consolidate a larger audience of gamers. If properly maintained, it can become a showcase to new costumers. I lost count of how many mod managers I installed in hope to find that all-in-one solution. I'm no marketing specialist, but that would be a game changer to other gamers in my vision.
Will be realy insane if gog will allow just by few clicks install non-official mods
Absolutely NO support for Nexus integration, I despise those sites. However, I'd love to see GOG run their own Steam Workshop-esque mods site.

BTW whatever you do, don't make GOG Galaxy mandatory for mods. Make them downloadable, just like the offline installers for the games.
This really should have more votes. I can't believe there aren't more people asking for this.
Steam workshop is one of the main reasons why people prefer to buy games on Steam instead of GOG.
GOG Workshop is unnecessary since Modio exist. mod.io
Please, we need a workshop!

yeah, not sure if nexus mods is even a good. their moderation is just all over the place. maybe mod.io is good
I was thinking of posting exactly this on the Community Wishlist and I'm glad that someone else already did and that so many people want the same thing.
I like how steam has started to feature mods that are pretty much new games and hope that GOG will do the same. A better page where Neverwinter Nights modules could gather would be awesome.
The Steam Workshop is dreadful, not least of which because people who do not own games that use the Workshop on Steam have to jump through hoops to download mods from the Steam Workshop for that game (if it is even possible, which is not always the case.) I certainly approve of a GOG Workshop but only as long as it is nothing more than a centralised mod repository that avoids all the shortcomings and downsides of the Steam Workshop.
Actually it fits for them to buy nexus
Nexus is torture because it makes you log in just to download a mod, FOR NO REASON! just let me have the mod download nexus! wooooooooow.......
Steam is terrible too. They make it impossible to get mods for some games. Why would they do that? So you have to buy the game on steam right!? terrible.
Honestly I would like it gog got MODDB integration, because the mods are just literally sitting there, and you just download it and that's it. Instant satisfaction.
Now that GOG Galaxy 2.0 is out, I could see mod/workshop integration like GG2 has. Steam games could access the Steam Workshop, non-steam games could access NexusMod, or Mods.io through other integration plugins.
As for installation, not sure how that would work, each mod is different, and each game is too. However even just an integration search with a common download location (per game, ideally) would be nice. I can install it myself, nor would I even trust an automated system to do it correctly.
Honestly, as long as GOG isn't fussy about their user base using mods with games bought from them, I'm good with that. I can find my own mods and figure out how to install them. We can't have everything handed to us people.
A very necessary feature. Nexus integration would be optimal.
I think that this is a good idea provided it allows mod download without GOGGalaxy and open to people who don't have GOG accounts.
That makes it more costly and less profitable but otherwise we end up with steam workshop copy. Quite a lot of mods now exist only there without any access for people outside of steam wallgarden.
Alternative might be to check if there are any EU laws that could be used to force steam to allow mod downloads without steam account.
I agree with GOG Worksop idea, very important thing. A lot of games are unfortunatelly more atractive on Steam actually, because there is existing Workshop. Homeworld Remastered Collection is very good example. On Steam this game has entire well-working Workshop where developers are also supporting all fan made mods. I wish, GOG has something similar. You know why? Becasue you always provide good quallity, your are cool company (a gem in game industry), and your platform is more clear, stable, and doesn't provide lot of trashy files into computer. This shows how profesionalist programers you are. Keep it up! And please, consider this wish :)
Bringing official Nexus support to GOG would really put them a cut above the rest!
No, don't like the idea off splitting the modding community even more like imranf1 wrote. Modding should be open to anyone, not walled/closed off. Is there even a way to download the mods that exist only on Steam?
@Alexander_DeLarge
It would make more sense for gog to open a separate page just for mods. mog maybe? Lol
I really don't like the way steam workshop works, and nexus also frustrates me immensely. I prefer if Gog.com had it's own mod workshop page.
This would be interesting. I've heard that the relationship with Nexus has been good, maybe it is possible to add Vortex into Galaxy somehow? That would be incredible.
Integration of Mods will be good ;)
Honestly, something like a GOG Workshop would end up being one more place to release mods. Rather, GOG could go with a universal mod manager that works with services like Nexus.
Unless implemented correctly, this would be just another walled garden ecosystem for mods. Treading dangerous territory when a storefront becomes a platform unless it's open and implemented in a pro-consumer way.
I do want some sort of mod integration or a workshop, let us pray the sun
Would be Excellent for people who Can't / Don't want to use Nexus mods
Well, instead of a full integration and/or own solution similar to steam workshop, or nexus mod I would argue that working together with Nexus (and others), creating a standardise and _open_ api that allows gog games and clients (like the Galaxy client) to work togetherm like with favourite and in-use list is far more of interesst. GOG could donate some money to the nexus guys thus to create a steady and constant development and bugs fixing and QA/QM(! - which is important, we [gamers] don't want a second steam).
Just use the Nexus mod manager. I don't agree to yet another splitting of the userbase - right now we already have to deal with Steam and non-Steam mods, which is infuriating. Since GoG games don't have DRM they can just use the Nexus mod manager. Come on guys, NMM is already dead easy to use. On the other hand, if you're a modder, why not just publish on Nexus? We don't gain anything by splitting off yet another repository.
