GOG mobile stylesheet
you can put videos into apps but apps are also more basic?
nope not voting for this because people actually like apps and launchers and in some cases apps are actually faster then websites loading because apps just loads whats in the app and nothing else vs a website that loads videos and such.
Just implement a fully responsive site, rather than just some pages - that would solve most problems.
I disagree I would love a launcher for my computer and an app for smartphone.
What's kind of funny is that it wouldn't even be that hard to do. At a minimum, identify the browser using the User-Agent header field and if it's a mobile browser, simply present a completely static version of the page with no dynamic resizing, moving, etc. Yes, it would still require zooming and panning, but at least it would be usable.
Trying to log in to the website on my phone is an utter nightmare - the login box causes the screen to zoom in too far, and it displays off centre so that I can't see what I've entered. I'd love a mobile stylesheet; would solve my issue at a stroke.
I wouldn't mind purchasing games from my phone especially for sales such as this insomnia one where things are a bit more time based. The CSS is really messed up on the front page with the header being in a weird sticky fashion and the login box being awkward.
I can't believe how difficult this website is to use on my iPhone. I'm trying to buy something, but I can't get to my cart for some reason, and the search boxes are just awful! I'm sure something could be done to make this better...
Most smartphones these days are perfectly capable of displaying the full desktop version of a site. I do this with Steam all the time. But something with the gog.com site layout as it currently stands just simply does not work on my Samsung Galaxy S4. It also doesn't work on Opera on my old BlackBerry.
I'd love a simple way to purchase games on the go, but with the current site layout, I just can't do it. If I'm not at my PC for the weekend, I end up missing a discount, and gog.com misses out on a sale. :(
I would also love to see a mobile version of GOG.com, though the phone I have is not a smartphone. I only have what's called a feature phone. Since my online time via my laptop is severely limited (I have to go down to my local library), I tend to miss out on sales that include some of my favorite games.
I am shocked that there is no mobile version of this site for my phone.
Absolutely, it's 2013. Think mobile first, throw in some media queries and we users would have a good start on mobile I'm sure.
Please also make the forms usable on mobile devices as part of this. It's nigh-on impossible to reply to a message from my phone.
Some functions like using the search bar on the top right are downright impossible to use on my iPhone 4. This should really be a priority.
The description of this wish by Blodskur wraps it up for me. It's important to note that smartphone apps for sites blow. It should be based in the browser. Also all comments here are great: the site layout and experience as it is relies heavily on images and mouse hovering, so it's truly disastrous in a smartphone. Writing on the forums from a smartphone is horrible too.
Using the new My Account and Browse Games drop downs on a phone is a pain since those drop downs rely on mouse hovering over them to appear.
Yes, please help me from having to crawl out from under the stalls cause my legs have gone to sleep from trying to navigate this site. ty
I want the site to work with images switched off in the browser (guessing where the purchase button might be is only fun the first couple of times), but that will probably require another redesign.
Navigating the GOG forums on a cellphone is quite a pain, even with zooming and panning, yet for some reason I frequently do. So, yes, here's another vote for a mobile stylesheet (preferably), or a mobile verion of the site.
This would be useful for PCs too - I'm sick of having to wait through a 2MB+ front page download. The "My Account" page especially needs the option of a simpler, faster layout for those with large GOG collections.
